4 “punches to the gut” we hear when couples forgo the wedding film 🎥

1. “we don’t need a wedding film, photos are enough”.
2. “my uncle with his camera can just film our wedding”.
3. “I am never going to watch it”.
4. “we weren’t even considering one you absolute tool”

Okay, the last one is (somewhat) fake 🤣

In all honesty though, it is a common misconception for couples to think that photos are enough and a wedding film is unnecessary. Some even suggest that their uncle with a camera can do the job. However, we’ve seen countless couples regret not having a wedding film. In contrast, those who have hired a professional videographer never fail to appreciate that they did.

It’s not surprising that couples who initially thought they didn’t need a wedding film end up changing their minds and being grateful that they did. A wedding film captures the essence of the day in a way that photos just can’t. It allows you to relive those special moments and emotions, over and over again.

Budget is always a concern, but don’t let it get in the way of capturing the most important day of your life. If you’re planning to spend a considerable amount on a photographer, it’s worth considering splitting the budget. Trust us; you won’t regret it.

Here are 5 🚩 to look out for before hiring a wedding videographer:

1. Slow email response time: Let's say that if a vendor promises to respond to emails within two business days but repeatedly takes weeks to reply, you may want to check in and see if they are still alive (haha). While spam filters can sometimes cause delays, a vendor should be responsive, regardless of whether it's wedding season or not 👀

2. No vendor recommendations: If a vendor cannot provide recommendations for other vendors, it may indicate that they have limited connections in the industry 💀

3. Dishonesty: If a vendor promises to deliver your wedding film in an unrealistic time frame, or their reviews suggest that they do not meet their promises, it’s best to do your research and ask around 😳

4. Inconsistent work: If a vendor’s portfolio shows inconsistency in their work, it may suggest that they are not skilled at producing cohesive and beautiful films 😶

5. Cookie thief: Okay, this one is just for fun, but watch out for vendors who eat too many cookies from your dessert table on your wedding day (like us 😉)!

Meet the team—Dan is the editor for DeLuca Films. He is an absolute machine in the editing room and when it comes to Premiere Pro crashes, he holds his ground unlike the rest of us, haha. He is the one that makes sure you get your films on time and in the highest quality through story-telling and shot selection. He graduated from the University of Windsor's film program and has been creating stellar work for brands and businesses alike ever since. He hopes to one day be a narrative feature film editor.

Meet the team—Logan is the main associate videographer for DeLuca Films. He loves storytelling, photography, & videography. Making videos and telling tales has been a part of life for it's entirety, and he doesn't intend to stop now. With lofty dreams of continuing to tell stories with conviction and emotion, Logan approaches each project with an open mind and an excitement to learn 🙌🏻⭐️

Lets play two truths and a lie;

1️⃣ Logan loves camping. If you think you are a top-tier camper, Logan is one step ahead of you. He knows how to start fires, setup tents on the most rough terrian, and surive in the wildest of places, all while still making it to your wedding day on time.

2️⃣ Logan lives in a unique treehouse home situated in the depths of Belle River. You have probably never seen it since its deep in the woods, out of sight, and off the grid. It is so off the grid that he uses data from his service provider to upload his incredible work to the internet.

3️⃣ Logan owns more than what has in stock at their storefront. Some say "to get a piece of anian is to not go to the store, but to go right to Logans closet".

He used to watch his parent's wedding film on VHS (yes, we said VHS) all the time, which brought him to where he is today. SAMANTHA & KOLE HIGHLIGHT LOVE STORY //

Um, something magical just happened. What you ask? The wedding of Samantha & Kole just happened. Sam & Kole’s wedding weekend consisted of family, friends, willow & cedar (cutest dogs to ever exist), a beautiful ceremony right on the water, a gorgeous sunset, and a whole lot of partying. This couple was forever excited to get married when we first met, and we couldn’t be more impressed on how the day played out.
