Winkler's Run is back again this year!
Happening on October 12 at 930 am at the Winkler arena, this annual event helps to raise funds for the and includes 5k, 10k and half marathon options, including virtual options. There's even a 1.3k fun run for kids ages 10 and under. On top of all that, they are also doing a win a turkey contest this year. Early bird registrations end on September 19. Time for an Apple Jam Harvest Party!
will be hosting their 2nd annual Harvest Party Saturday, September 14. This family friendly event will have free admission and more details are yet to come so stay tuned to their page for more info!
Reunion Days this weekend!
The Museum will be holding their 56th annual Reunion Days this Friday and Saturday. Food, entertainment, and all the great ol' timey fun will be going on at the museum. Check their page for details!

The first fall event we're posting about is about a 40 minute drive west down Hwy 3. Manitou's takes place Saturday, September 7. With vendors, live entertainment, a car show, and even a kid's activity tent, there should be fun for everyone! And don't forget to check out their buffet supper later in the day. Festive Winkler returns!
We are getting an even earlier start this year so we can hopefully share details about more fall activities. Our Trick or Treating map for Halloween 2024 will be making its return too after getting a lot of traffic last year. If you know about any upcoming fall events, let us know and we will help spread the word!
Merry Christmas everyone! We hope our posts have once again been useful this festive season and are happy to say our Twinkle Tour map has managed to garner over 1000 views since going live at the start of December. We hope you all have a great start to the new year and we'll be at it again in 2024!

For our Christian friends today marks the fourth and final Sunday of Advent. Traditionally the final candle is to represent peace. The world has been quite turbulent of late with Ukraine and Israel quick to come to mind. This holiday season we wish for peace for them and all those who have been seeking it as we prepare for tomorrow's happenings this Christmas Eve.
We found another Saturday morning crossword for everyone! The only thing we're more excited about is the fact Christmas is only 2 days away! Have fun with this one.
In one of our last posts this festive season, we'd like to take a moment to remind everyone that the things we will remember, the things our families will remember, will revolve around the time spent together during the holidays. It won't be the toys or fancy gadgets or what the meals were. So as we all do the final hustle and bustle these last few days, make sure spending time is number one on the to-do list.
Our Twinkle Tour map has continued to be updated this month and we are happy to say 26 locations have been included and at this point, hundreds of views of the map have happened. We hope you've been enjoying it and we can't wait for Christmas to arrive in just 4 days! If you haven't been on the tour, we would encourage you to do so! There's some great displays around town!
This one will be a little weather dependent, but is putting on a snow building contest from now until January 7. Just send 3 photos of your creation for a chance to win a prize. For our Christian friends today marks the third Sunday of Advent. Traditionally the third candle represents Joy. This is the perfect season to spread some Joy and find a little for ourselves. Maybe it's a twinkle tour drive using our map (link in bio) with hot chocolates in hand. Maybe it's volunteering your time or supporting a deserving organization. Maybe it's just slowing down from the usual hustle and bustle and taking some time with family or friends. Whatever it is, we hope everyone finds a little Joy this season.

The holidays keep getting closer and we thought it would be good to let everyone know the has been accepting late fines and passing them on to the this season. So if you any late fees at the library, get them paid and you'll be supporting a great cause!

They are back for another fa-la-la-la-la fun time this holiday season! is once again Caroling for a Cause. With a donation, you can nominate a home and their carolers will make a visit to spread some joy on Thursday, Dec 21 from 6-8 pm. Happy 6th night of Hanukkah to our Jewish friends tonight! To go along with the oil used to light the temple lamp, many traditional foods happen to be deep fried. Latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly filled donuts) are two popular choices.

Happy fifth night of Hanukkah to our Jewish friends tonight! It is very common to hand out gelt (Yiddish word for money) during the holiday, which may be real coins or even chocolate coins these days. This gelt may even be used when playing dreidel as the antes during the game. Time to win a gelt jackpot!

Happy fourth night of Hanukkah to our Jewish friends tonight! Did you know dreidels are also used to play a game? Each person gets a turn and each turn everyone puts an ante in the pot. Depending on what side lands up, the player may have to do nothing, put in another ante, take half the pot, or the whole pot. Sounds like fun!
For our Christian friends today marks the second Sunday of Advent. Traditionally, the lighting of the second candle is to represent faith, but over time some have begun taking it to represent love. Our community has representation from many countries and faiths in it and while not all will be celebrating Christmas we could certainly all come together to spread some love to one another this season.
