Back at the Walker tonight for Charley Crockett. Opener Noeline Hoffman left a solid first impression with a full 45 minute set. We definitely need to see her again.

Expect to hear me rant about the mullets clapping on the 1 and 3 1/2 as well as artists pre-signing posters and charging an extra $20 for it if you run into to me in the near future. Next opportunity to hear me whine will be at Bluegrass at the Blue Note this Thursday.

Haggard tribute last night at the local h***y tonk. Just enough room on the stage to add a saxophone when this pic was taken. As per usual, Sean Burns and the full all-star version of Lost Country came fully prepared.

Rare show for me at the big sporty sports arena. Grammy nominees War & Treaty were in fine form and warmed up the stage for some Stapleton guy. I predict he could win an award or two at some point.

Lots of laughs and a serious sing-along with The Transcanada Highwaymen

These guys can all still bring it and Page’s voice may be better than ever. They were sticking around to meet as many fans as they could before having to jump in a van and head to Calgary - not even Canadian rock icons can keep the airlines from cancelling flights.

Stopped by the Walker to cheer on the home team, currently midway through their Canadian tour with Corb Lund. You can hear Sean Burns all over the tall man’s new record and it’s a beauty.

Grant and Sean will be back in town with some of Winnipeg’s finest joining them for the Haggard tribute at your favourite h***y tonk April 6th - expect all the cool kids to be at the early show.

Full room for Benjamin Dakota Rogers and Jeremie Albino last night but not a lot of familiar faces in the crowd. Now you have to hear me talk about it for the next six months and wonder why you weren’t there.

Last weekend we were treated to another stellar performance by Slow Leaves with the only real surprise of the night being how good the opener was! Nice to see a set from Dominque Adams after seeing a few songs with Madeleine Rodger last summer, and anything Austin Parachoniack is involved in is a good bet these days.

Another brilliant double header guaranteed tonight with Benjamin Dakota Rogers opening for Jeremie Albino!

Turn off the Netflix for a change and start the New Year in style. Your kids are old enough to stay at home and really don’t want to hang out with you anyway - but I do! Bringing all the moves I never use to the dance floor this year! Shoot me a message if you need tickets and we’ll figure something out.

I’ll be on the sideways Bass with Joanna Miller, Chris Dunn and Dan Russell joining me. 8pm-12:30. Tickets are $30 and include party favors, social food in the evening, and sparkling wine at midnight. Cafe 1 will also be open. Gonna be a gooder.

so I was actually supposed to hang out with my pal BLAKE BERGLUND a few weeks back when Hayes, McMurtry, and Ray Wylie Hubbard were rolling through town but that tour was too good to be true and Blake was going to bring his amigo Lachlan who I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet…anyway if ray was writing this post it might look something like this and if he had been at our big christmas party last night it would have been like a big vip reception seeing as how many of us had tickets in the front row for the show that never happened. ray wasn’t here though so he missed a helluva show and a pretty decent meat and cheese platter…all this to say a big thank you to all that attended It’s a T&A Christmas! 7 but most of all Blake, Bryn and Jeff for rehearsing and drive all the way out here just for us when they’re not touring anywhere else as a trio this month.

also if you were paying attention Blake told us the only way to preorder his new double length album that we had a 6 or 7 song preview of and boy did it sound good is to subscribe to his substack which seems like a pretty good idea to me so I’ll try and post a link in the comments.

Moving a little slowly after the big Sean Burns album release last night. Loved the new material added to the already impressive catalogue.

Amy Nelson played a set that was too short to open the night. Catch the full experience Sunday over here at the Garage, show starts at 7pm so you can get back to your favourite h***y tonk for the usual shenanigans. Plenty of good seats available, send me a dm and we’ll get you in.

Amy Nelson will be here Sunday for an early evening show. We’ll have space for last minute guests, but we’d sure appreciate a heads up so we can prepare for our snack table responsibilities.
