okay...so it has been awhile.
we apologize for not being good FB friends. although we have not been posting, we've been here (no, not creeping) just working away, trying to make our way through these unparalleled times. we really hope you are hanging on and doing okay!
great news - after a 4 month hiatus from producing takeaway meals, this Thursday, January 06, we will be ready to reopen the doors and welcome you to check us out by calling for pickup or ordering for home delivery on Skip the Dishes.
we've got a revamped menu (classic comfort all the way) and some great new team members to help execute it. shown is our new D&D Coconut Cake...a reimagining of the McCain frozen classic dessert...and a picture of Walter.
JSYK, Walter has NOTHING to do with the preparation of the cake or any food at Lewis, but he's cute and will hopefully make you forget about how we were such bad FB posters over the past few months.

Always the most popular version of Eastern European "dumpling", the Cheddar & Potato Pierogi never disappoints...unless you are gluten intolerant, celiac, vegan, lactose intolerant, allergic to onions, etc, in which case, you would likely be very disappointed if you ordered them. For everyone else, the humble pierogi is a great main event or perfect complement to breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, late lunch, dinner, or late night snack! I ate 4 of them while writing this, for no reason other than "they were there" (just kidding, I ate 7) and the remaining 8 (5) are going to be my reward for finishing! And you? Feel like you deserve a reward?

Our hand-rolled meatballs contain 58% pork, 37% beef, and 5% eggs, breadcrumbs, garlic, & seasoning. Shown are meatballs in mushroom gravy. At approximately 16 – 18 cooked meatballs per pound, they should feed 4 adults as a side or one 17 year-old man-child, who probably won’t consider touching the beautiful vegetable dishes or salad you slaved over making and even when you explain that the meatballs are meant for everyone to enjoy and that they should let their younger siblings have some, they don’t listen, and then you realize that you will likely have to buy double the amount next time…oh wait. Nevermind!

One of the more frequently asked questions we get is how to serve Cottage Cheese Pierogis ("Glums Wareniki" for all of our Mennonite friends). We think they are best enjoyed boiled and served with a generous ladle of butter & sour cream sauce and some "not too sweet" preserve. We had blueberries available when we took this picture, so that is what we used...but you do you!
We'd love to have your suggestions for how to best enjoy them.

A hand-breaded pork cutlet, a toasted baguette, and some fixin's are hanging out at Lewis Kitchen...
Oh wait, we see some raised arms out there, which means that some of you have heard this story.🖐
Anyways...the moral of the story is that the Cajun Cutlet Sandwich pairs beautifully with our very unique and tasty fries...the end!

When we started on Skip the Dishes and DoorDash, we did not presume that this dish would be our #1 seller...but it has become a fan favourite for first time and repeat orders.
The 4 x 6 with Kolbassa provides the perfect balance of flavour, authenticity, and "full belly" to cure HANGRY episodes and ensure a good night's sleep...or afternoon nap (no judgment here).
