We are so excited for another year of folklorama in 2023!!! Practice has already begun for our dancers, and we have a few new things in the works for the next year.
This past folklorama was different with the amount of pavilions cut in half, but it was so great to see everyone's faces again. Hopefully in 2023 we can get back to normal. 😊

Hello all!

The CSCS invites you to an open house night for anyone who wishes to dance. This evening will only be open to those whom wish to dance. If your child is wanting to dance and they are at the age of 10 or up, they are to be dropped off as this is an event for them to experience what it is like to be apart of our dance community we offer. Their will be supervision at this event.

Please join us in song, dance and educate yourself how fun it is to be apart of our dance groups.

We will be playing a series of several games throughout the night. Food and drink will also be offered to those who wish to come.

Please RSVP by September 20. We hope to see you there!❤️

Instagram Takeover: Adult Ambassador Taylor Tutkaluke

Hello everyone! Today I will be posting stories to take you behind the scenes of what it is like to be an ambassador at the Slovenija pavilion! First, a little about me:

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB in the Slovenian community. My paternal grandfather immigrated from Slovenia but sadly he passed away when I was only 1. His wife, my maternal granny immigrated at the same time from Croatia and lived down the street from us growing up, and participated in the Slovenian community alongside us. Growing up she always kept my brothers and I full while our parents were at work with Doboš torte, Apple strudel, paprika and much more. My paternal side is Métis and has lived on Treaty 1 for generations.

I have always been really interested in my culture and family lines. I believe that whenever possible, we should all understand where we come from and whose land we live on.

A little history on this sticker; the design on this sticker used to be featured on a stamp we had to stamp everyone’s travel guides. Fast forward and we have transformed this same beautiful design into a sticker😍
