Winnipeg legend, Dan Gilson, is gearing up to melt your minds at Weird Psyence, October 26th at
Dan Gilson has been sneaking up onto unsupervised stages and pressing play while no one is looking for more than 25 years, determined to bring psychedelic sounds and dancefloor energy to the masses. A Winnipeg Psy regular and frequent contributor to various local club shows, after-hours and festivals, his sets very from high-energy psy to mellow groovy tunes, more recently focusing on the emerging sounds of psychedelic techno from labels like Techgnosis Records, AlpaKa MuziK, Digital Structures, Alula Tunes, and others.

Feb 10th is almost here! Not sure what you’re going to wear to the for Love Hurts? We’ve got you! We’re excited to have Dragon’s Lair with us, vending their captivating accessories, sure to complete any outfit!
Dragon’s Lair started in 2010 with specializing in the intricate art of leatherwork. Crafting collars, cuffs, harnesses, corsets, and floggers, they honed their skills in handcrafting each piece, combining together beautifully painted and tooled leather. They have since expanded their repertoire and introduced an assortment of Gothic lace jewelry, punk leather wristbands, Steampunk necklaces and watches, vintage rings, as well as 3D printed figurines and dioramas that embrace a more provocative aesthetic.
Be sure to stop by their table inside the Pyramid and explore their fusion of artistry and individuality!

Saturday is going to be a ton of flipping fun at for Winnipeg Psy’s Love Hurts event as we have a new stage performer joining us, .sapphira.burlesque
Nina is a founding member of Divine Femmes Burlesque. She has contributed to Winnipeg’s art scene over the years by co-producing many shows and choreographing for others. Her style varies between funny, dramatic, and just plain weird, but her end goal is always to entertain. She is a passionate individual who always pours her heart and soul into her acts. She is known as The Queen of Hair Flips, but she also answers to Winnipeg’s Gem.

We are getting so excited for Saturday!
Before that day comes, we want to review with you all some rules you'll need to agree to in order to enter into the event. These rules are in place to make sure everyone has a safe experience!

Please note that the following rules are in effect for this event. Before entering the Pyramid, you will be required to agree to the following conditions:
1. Do not touch anyone without their permission!
2. No means no. Always.
3. If you see anything worrying, tell an event organizer, they have red bracelets. Do not intervene yourself.
4. There is a no photo policy that applies to the whole event - NO EXCEPTIONS! Your phone front facing camera will be covered by a sticker and it must stay on for the duration of the event.
Those not respecting the rules can be removed from the event.
We want to ensure everyone enjoys their night! Thank you in advance for helping us keep everyone safe!

Beiko started DJing in 2013. When he heard his first Psy set at Motion Notion, it shaped his musical journey into the incredible state it's in today. Joining Winnipeg Psy officially in 2015, Beiko has wowed anyone in attendance with his high-energy, high fun tracks that will flow you through his sets, almost like you're reading a story. If the music wasn't enough, you can always look to the man himself for an amusing dance and smile, bringing the fun from all angles!

Chris Komus
An integral part of Winnipeg Psy since its inception in 2007, has been rocking psychedelic dancefloors in Winnipeg and around the world for decades. Chris Komus has had the honour of playing many festivals including: Boom Utopia (Portugal), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Infrasound Festival (US), Shambhala Music Festival (Can), Burning Man (US), Motion Notion (Can) and many more, as well as a tour in Australian and performances in Costa Rica. He has also performed in cities across Canada and has made appearances in the US.
In addition to his much sought after DJ performances, Chris Komus is an accomplished producer whose releases traverse the world of psychedelic bass music, sculpted from the sounds of psydub, psybient, glitch hop, and world bass. Dubby vibes and laser-edited basslines are intertwined with futuristic psychedelic sounds, with each track telling a story like a cinematic score with orchestral elements and hints of space-rock and blues. Conjuring up visuals of a world within the swampy jungle floor, or the vastness of space between our sky and distant icy planets, but always remaining dialed in to the low-end frequencies of heavy hitting basslines that reverberate between the trees and the dancefloor.
Chris Komus’s most recent release, “Wheezing Corporeal Shell”, available now on Shanti Planti, has bee described as, “…a haunting journey into the dark wilderness, where chimerical melodies lurk in the shadows and granulated textures wriggle and roil across the fractured landscape. Wheezing Corporeal Shell lures us into a web of wickedness, tickling the mind with a twisted array of glitch, psydub, and halftime as it draws us into its vicious grasp in search of discovery.” – Christian Cortes
Has been a constant contributor to Winnipeg’s Psy scene for an unreasonable length of time. With more than two decades worth of DJ experience, his mission is to enable a party by any means necessary. Usually that entails not only playing sets that range from mellow and groovy to hard and fast, but also designing and building many of the sets and decorations used in Winnipeg Psy’s shows over the years.

You might think of FreqKing as a DJ and promoter with a passion for psytrance, house, funk, breaks, and techno. Someone with 20 years of experience playing across Canada at clubs, raves, festivals, and any kind of event in between. Maybe you think of him as a former resident at Winnipeg’s iconic gay club Happenings or a local radio host. Or as a long-standing member of Winnipeg Psychedelic Productions.
But you’d be wrong. What you see is a shell, a host body devoid of will. No one knows exactly how or when the self-replicating psychedelic frequency first achieved sentience, but it long ago consumed FreqKing’s mind. Leaving only one drive, one desire, one burning need. More. psychedelic. music.
Chris Beiko
Ever since that pivotal, perception-shattering night when he first saw Yoni Osrat (a.k.a. Ace Ventura) play a three hour sunrise set at Motion Notion 2010—and suddenly realizing the truly gravitational might of the Psytrance—local maniac Chris Beiko has been a relentlessly devoted acolyte to the all-powerful Psytrance Gods. Awakening bolt-upright to the shockingly obvious realization of a compelling new mission in this plane of existence, he joined up with his newfound friends, the zealous worshipers at the well-established army of Winnipeg Psy in 2012, and has been throwing parties with them ever since. Specializing in the full-on-est of full-on, Beiko is always searching unrelentingly for the most hard-driving, mind-twisting, spirit-gripping tracks that he can draw forth from the psychedelic ectoplasm, to deliver to our ears and to our feet on the dance floor, so that we may become grounded hard like existential iron to this giant flying magnet we call earth, and unleash the inner psychedelic spirit lightning in exuberant and ecstatic fashion in tribute to the mighty Psy Gods. Helping throw great parties for great people, and keeping the power of the music alive, are also on his list of favorite things.
Mia "Fun Facts" Pohl
In true Winnipeg fashion, Mia wants to tell you about the great deal they got on materials for making the decorations for the show. One day they hope to optimize decorating to the point that entertaining psychedelic colours and shapes spontaneously burst forth from the void from which all is born and returns. Can be easily found by following the trail of lost bedazzles littering the local area.
Kayla Chafe
Kayla’s energy and passion leaves an impression! Her introduction to Psytrance was only a few years ago. The music swept her heart away with the beats bringing her to a new frequency! She loves building community, specializing in communications and networking along with doing a little bit of artistic this and that. Kayla helps create a positive environment, elevating a higher vibration in the dance scene and Psytrance parties for you!
