Absolutely honoured to be rated one of Winnipeg's top three professional wedding photographers for the sixth year running!
Massive thanks to my wonderful clients, anyone who's ever referred or recommended us, loved ones who've helped take care of my girls while I take care of my clients, and of course to my incredible team of photographers and videographers who continue to dedicate their talents and time to making magic with Stardust.
Here's to another wonderful year - I can't wait to see what the rest of wedding season brings💜

2021 is bringing its fair share of uncertainty with rules and restrictions, leaving many couples choosing to reschedule their wedding dates. Prime dates are being taken up quickly this year and next; if you are considering moving your wedding, please check with your photographer to see if they are available! Here's a list of our currently booked up dates (subject to potential reschedules). And don't forget - I'm here for you. This is an incredibly stressful time. If you need advice, help navigating planning through a pandemic, new invitations/"change the dates", or just a virtual hug or an outdoor socially distanced glass of wine, don't hesitate to reach out <3

This Was 2020
Looking back at this highlight video, it’s hard to believe all these moments happened in 2020.
It feels like an eternity ago that we were able to gather and celebrate as normal. We only had a handful of full-day weddings as planned this year; the remainder were postponed to a hopeful 2021 date or scaled back significantly to back yard afternoon celebrations or elopements. But this gave rise to a shift in focus: away from the trivialities and added expenses that make a wedding look just right, and more toward the commitment, the love, and the people that make it feel right.
This year was an adventure—in wedding photography, you have to learn to be a ninja when it comes to changing conditions, and roll with the punches no matter what happens on the day. Usually this means being prepared for things like unexpected downpours, rings being forgotten, or awkward speeches from well-meaning relatives, not global pandemics, but the spirit is the same: focus on what’s important and what’s within your control, and you’ll be okay.
The year began with a series of thoroughly Winnipeg winter weddings. As temperatures plummeted (hey, at least we managed to avoid -40 this winter so far!), joy soared, and we were lucky to be part of a few celebrations with champs and adventurers that braved the Arctic conditions for some amazing shots. March brought the beginnings of 2020 as we know it, and though we were lucky to shoot a full wedding the weekend before lockdown, it also brought about the first travel cancellation for an overseas wedding—a week before departure. This cancellation was the first of three: this year we were set to capture weddings in Mexico, the United Kingdom and Vegas, but as the pandemic took over the globe, plans began to change drastically. We had one couple bring their scheduled 150+ guest wedding forward to an intimate, immediate family-only ceremony at home so a beloved relative in poor health could still witness the union. Everything in May and Ju
Victory??
This may be premature. We are feeling trepidation and hesitance and slight disbelief with the lack of public statement from the Premier. But this afternoon, mid-CTV interview, I received an email stating my business was... approved for the grant we've been fighting for this past week. Floods of messages came in stating many of my colleagues in the industry also received emails stating they had now been approved. Guys... this started a WEEK ago with a hashtag and a message. I'm blown away by the support I've seen this week, and floored to think of how many people's lives this will impact. Business owners that contribute to the Manitoba economy are now INCLUDED. The email was signed "from" Brian Pallister, thanking us for our contribution to the economy. After repeated denials for not having a physical storefront, this caught me off guard. Most of us still don't know what to make of this. Could it be retracted? Why hasn't he publicly congratulated himself for changing things and including us? But surely it would be political suicide to retract an official approval letter and deserved grant? I'm just going to embrace hope here, and go for it. The support has been astronomical. There is good in the world, and there is strength in numbers. Good CAN win sometimes, even in the darkest of times. To everyone who shared the message, the hashtag, the graphics... to everyone who spoke to the media, to their MLAs... to MLAs themselves, who had no obligation to us but spoke up for us anyway and offered their support in potentially taking it to the federal level... I take today as a victory, even if it is retracted; it's a victory for goodness, human decency, community and fighting spirit for what's right. I'm so proud to be part of this community, and eternally thankful to each and every soul who put a single ounce of energy toward this. ❤ ❤ ❤
The two sets are ready for tomorrow’s first holiday session mini marathon! With the snow this week and no Halloweening this year, I think I’m officially allowed to get into the holiday spirit! LOTS of precautions, governmental communication and safety measures are in place :) Bring on the magic!!

Had so much fun at the Wonderful Wedding Show this weekend! Enormous thanks to everyone who helped at the booth (thank you SO much!), and we had such a blast meeting so many new people! We'll be drawing our grand prize today and announcing tomorrow... good luck! :)
A short, #instagram snippet (cut off too lol) of our #bestof2018! 2018 was pretty fantastic. We had our first destination wedding (even if we ended up with an epic speeding ticket with the bride and groom in the back of the car… sorry Rammy Sohal Photography), joined the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada, and got accepted into the prestigious @fearlessphotographerscom Collective. We shot 18 weddings and have so far booked another 20 for 2019, including one in Toronto and one in the Caribbean (!), and we’ve been spending most of this month prepping giant canvases and promotional material for our first big wedding expo at the Wonderful Wedding Show in January!⠀

As the year comes to a close, we’ve collected some of our favourite moments and photos from 2018 – the artistic, the emotional, the raw, authentic, and the hilarious. I am so grateful to those that inspire me, those that teach me, those that shoot with me, and those that trust me to capture some of the most incredible memories of their lives. This year, brides and grooms have become dear friends, and newlyweds have embarked upon new chapters as parents. I am so, so honoured to get to witness these journeys and to have these people in my life. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it - please check out the full version on the blog or on Facebook! ⠀
