Tip: Think about how you’d like your napkin folded and communicate to your decor team if you’d like a unique fold. If you’re DIY’ing know that custom folds take time and pre-folding will save you from extra stress on-site during set up. ✨

We’re so proud of our “kids”. Like, really really proud. 🥹

Liam, Josette and Jorgia started working with us in 2021, stepping into their role as Event Assistants without really knowing what to expect. In fact we couldn’t really tell them what to expect because each event comes with a different ask and different vision. They were young, eager and excited to learn.

Over the last three summer seasons and as we begin this next one, we’ve been blown away by their growth. From unsure students making sure they triple checked the task list to confident employees who know exactly what to do when we arrive at an event site. From young kids who were hesitant to call clients or participants, to leaders of their prom committee and actively stepping into training the newest Mile East hires.

You see a lot of people talking about the toxicity around calling your workplace and colleagues a “work family”. But we like to think we’ve fostered a healthy workplace where we do feel like family. We spend a lot of time together. We celebrate and laugh together, we sit down for lunches and talk about what the future has in store. We cry, we vent, we have silly moments and we conquer great things.

Watching them graduate and hearing them prepare for their post secondary plans brings a mix of emotions. We know it means they’re one step closer to a “last summer” with us. But we’re also so very proud and want for these three all the best for their future. Even if it means someday they won’t be “our kids” anymore. 🤍
