Swiftmas 2024

For the second annual ๐ฎ๐๐พ๐ป๐๐๐ถ๐ event with The Rural Foodie, I pushed myself to fully execute the eras. ๐ซถ๐ปComing off the end of the Eras tour, excitement was high and I knew the Swifties expected an experience!
So I spent a full day researching albums and colours. Watching music videos and performances. Making notes and putting together one of the most detailed packing lists I have ever done. โ๏ธ
Each guest was able to choose their favourite Era and the table decor had to hit the right notes! ๐ถ
๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ with soft pastels. ๐ฉท๐
โ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฌ๐ซ with bold black and golds. ๐๐ค
Cousin albums ๐ธ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐น๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ with complimenting wood elements, pampas grasses and greens. A few mirror balls added to ๐๐ธ๐ต๐ด๐ต๐ธ๐ป๐ฎ and Ivy added to ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ธ๐ป๐ฎ to ensure each stood out on its own. ๐ฑ ๐ชฉ
๐ก๐ฎ๐ญ with heartbreak red and black. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ๐ค
๐ฃ๐ซ๐ช๐ซ with the softest blue and whites to pull in the album art. ๐ค๐ฉต
All the sparkles for ๐น๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐. โจ

๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ with deep purples and just enough shimmer to bring enchantment to the table. ๐
Shimmery blue for the feeling of a starry night for ๐๐ฒ๐ญ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฝ๐ผ. ๐
And perhaps my favourite table design, white on white for ๐ฏ๐ฝ๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐น ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐
๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐ with accenting black feathers and even a typewriter to pull in the visual from the first single from the latest larger then life album. ๐ค๐ค
Guests ate, sang, made and traded bracelets, coloured, snapped selfies and even enjoy

It was a day filled with excitement, surprises, culture and love. Nadine reached out to us in July of 2023, mere weeks after we coordinated her best friendโs wedding. She had so many ideas and the excitement to be planning her own day was palpable. We met several times over the last year and revised ceremony locations, room layouts and finalized decor. On one call, Nadine excused herself to shut the door to her office so that Parry couldnโt hear her. She eagerly told me about a surprise dance that she was planning for her reception and I was so excited to work it into the timeline. When wedding day came, just before the doors opened for her ceremony entrance, Nadine said to us, โIโve dreamt about this day for so long, I canโt believe itโs really happening.โ After a deep breath, a fluff of the dress and the musical cue, Nadine walked to Parry, ready for her forever.

After every single event. After every clean up day. After every room flip and every hurricane wedding and every inventory weekend. I make sure I thank my girls. Theyโre with me through every high and low. Every panic that something is going wrong. Every celebration of pulling off something amazing.
We laugh together after barrel rolls down a hill. We cry together at ceremonies for couples weโve only come to know. We curse a little, we vent and we come together over common challenges. But most of all, we get things done.
Last night, Monique mentioned the duality of women. That we can be oppressed but we are also bad ass b*tches who get things done. And we feel that duality often. We are capable of accomplishing great things and we prove that capability time after time. Yet we still feel like we must remain out of sight, quietly behind the scenes.
On International Womenโs Day, and every day, I am proud to be a woman who hires women in the event industry. A woman who gives women a platform for creativity and growth. And in return, my girls continually prove to me that we can do anything we set out to do. ๐ค
