📄 Who doesn’t know Michel'le? She was one of the first female artists, besides the crew J.J. Fad, to be released at the end of the 80's on Eazy-E's and Jerry Heller's Ruthless Records.

The debut album "Michel'le" was released in 1989 and was awarded gold in April 1990 for the 1.3 million copies sold at that time.

Her voice was also heard on several other tracks, like “Turn off the Lights” by World Class Wreckin Cru, “Run tha Streets” by 2Pac, “Let’s Play House” by Tha Dogg Pound, “Comm. Blues” by D.O.C., “California” by M.A.K. and much more.

In 1998 her second album “Hung Jury” was released on Death Row Records.

📄 I just want to spread some love for the Lordz of Brooklyn (evolved from an earlier graffiti crew called Verrazano Boyz) and for Stephen Bliss!

For both of them quality comes before quantity and you can hear and see that!

Big props for this classic from 1995 and for the great t-shirt design of the legendary Stephen Bliss (former illustrator & designer of the Grand Theft Auto series).

Lordz of Brooklyn released a new album in July 2020 entitled "Family Reunion".
I hope it will also be released on vinyl. I'm still waiting for the two albums "Graffiti Roc" and "The Brooklyn Way" too, which are unfortunately only released on CD.

📄 ”Sweet Ride” was the Debut-LP of this Funk studio group called Southroad Connection. The group was led and founded by producer & songwriter Lionel Job.

They recorded three highly acclaimed albums in the late 70’s with relases in the years 78, 79 and 1980 under Mahagony & United Artists Records.

📄 Yesterday, 32 years ago, one of my favorite albums from the 80s was released. Big up to the Ultramagnetic MC's and this timeless masterpiece.

Founded by Kool Keith in 1984, the group also includes Ced Gee, TR Love and DJ Moe Love.

📄 Just fooling around with Stacy Lattisaw and her debut album “Young and in Love” from 1979.
Lattisaw recorded her first album at the age of 12 in 1979, under the direction of producer Van McCoy.
She released ten albums between ‪1979 - 1990‬ (seven albums at Cotillion and three at Motown and then she retired from the pop industry.

📄 Silent Majority was a Swiss rap group from Lausanne, active from 1994 to 1998. The group was a multicultural project with members from 3 different continents and 7 countries. The multilingual rapping (a mixture of English, Jamaican patois, French, Spanish & Swahili) over African, Jazz & Funk influenced HipHop vibes aims to break down musical and national barriers.

At that time they were reminiscent of a European version of The Roots.

The members of Silent Majority decided to split up right after the release of their second and last album, “Nightbloomers”, in 1998.

Who doesn't know the legendary comedy duo, Cheech & Chong?!

They are regarded as pioneers of the “dope-smoker”-movies, a film genre defined above all by a comic and exaggerated depiction of cannabis use, its effects and the stereotypes of a dope-smoker.

The duo found commercial and cultural success in the 1970s and 1980s with their stand-up routines, studio recordings, and feature films, which were based on the hippie and free love era, and especially drug and counterculture movements, most notably their love for cannabis.
