❕Just over a week left to submit a short play for our 2025 Weekend of short play performances!!
🫵 This is your chance to see your work featured in high-quality performances showcasing your vision and the talent of local actors.
👉 Who are you?
Someone with experience in theatre. You can have extensive or limited experience directing. What matters most is that you have a vision of how to bring a story to life. Whether you’re looking for a chance to step into the director’s chair for the first time or are a veteran who wants to put their stamp on a short play, we welcome all submissions!
👉 What will be the final outcome?
Two performance nights in the heart of Lausanne. The production will utilize full tech and minimal set and props, to effectively enable multiple short plays to be featured and allow for innovative storytelling.
👉 What will be the process?
We want our selected directors to be able to work as independently as they’d like. Our committee is also available to support if mentorship or resources are needed. We’ll kickstart preparations for the performances by talking to each director about how the Village Players can best empower them with bringing their vision to life (eg. props, set, tech, costumes, etc.).

Plays should be 20 - 40 minutes long. They can be published or original works. You will need to include a copy of the script in the submission form.
