ARKA ODA, ISTANBUL WHERE MY LIFE CHANGED
Friday is definitely going to be special ! It is the place where my musical journey as a DJ began some 8 years ago.
Back in 2015 I was in Istanbul for a semester, studying at Galatasaray University under Erasmus program. During that time I discovered the city like never before and ended up enjoying much time
I eventually met a DJ who invited me to play at his side and that’s how I ended up sharing some Hip-Hop tunes as DJ Afreekaya’s premier
But Arka Oda hadn’t unfolded everything and the best was yet to come. That same DJ invited me again, but to discover a very nice label he said.
It was Friday night and I finally decided to go there and give it a try. Took the ferry, crossed from Europe to Asia and to my surprise, I enjoyed, listened and danced to music I had never heard before.
During a 3 to 4 hours long set, I didn’t even know a single track. I was flabbergasted! That night Samy from was on decks 🔥
After the gig I invited him to eat a soup and we realized that we had much more in common than we thought. Starting with beautiful Tunisia which had already a special place in my heart. We became friends, brothers and when I finally completed my studies a few years later he kindly offered to join his adventure at Analog Africa.
And here we are today ! It will be with high emotions that I will return to Arka Oda, sharing the desk with formidable Kornelia from , who kindly invited me to play with her. Funny enough, I met Kornelia in Tunisia some summers back and we instantly became very good friends.
Everything is about caring, sharing and spreading love. Music is love, as should anything else be
