Balzan Silvestri Choice – A Gentle Smile

They have been playing together for ten years, each one with exceptional skills on their instrument. They found each other at the request of an organizer. Now their first disc is here – and what a disc! They connect compositions from their own pen and well-known pop / rock songs from the 60s-80s with their very own source. Interpreted in a differentiated way and with unbelievable maturity, meticulously worked out their wide range of expression. Craft at the highest level. Balzan’s finely timed voice conveys musical and textual emotions. JOURNEYS are six Swiss professional musicians who celebrated their 20th band anniversary in 2020. The founding of the band JOURNEYS in 2000 marks the reunion of a group of old friends. The six musicians in the band have known each other for years from various projects and collaborations. They grew up in a time of musical transitions and speak the same language. On stage they give themselves a lot of creative freedom because they no longer have to prove who they are. With great enthusiasm and a spirit of discovery, they can do what they do best: take their audience on musical journeys through North America, South America and the Caribbean. The elements smooth jazz, fusion, funk and Latin form a soundscape that is rich in rhythm and harmony and has a clear melodic direction. Therefore, the groovy funk pieces, lyrical ballads and creative Latin jazz compositions appeal to a broad audience with several generations.

Um den Musikern immerhin ein Quäntchen Hoffnung zu geben, wurde das Projekt «Abaconcerts» lanciert. Das Vorhaben gestaltete sich aber gar nicht so einfach – gerade im Hinblick auf die Genehmigung.
