With the insertion of Tumba (the island’s typical music form) as the official music form to be promoted and played and the media coverage of almost every important event, Carnival without a doubt

became the biggest and most important cultural manifestation of Curaçao. Curaçao Carnival is a celebration in a class of its own. It more or less takes full possession of the whole community through competitions (Tumba music and Calypso festivals), beauty pageants, private and public parties and street parades during the first weeks of the year climaxing on the weekend and Tuesday preceding the Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent).

• Mi ta bolbe ripití, meskos ku mi a hasi den Festival Center na inisio di kada show; durante 10 minüt largu despues di kada banda, ta bin Branding Partner riba pantaya, stage ta bira pretu. MC no mag animá e momentu ei, despues ora ku tur Branding Partner kaba, e orei tin 2 òf 3 minüt di animashon den Festival Center kual TV/PPV no ta mira, mesora ta anunsiá Warm-Up. Tumba ta sigui... Porfabor komprondé e kosnan mi rumannan.

• Públiko, esta bunita boso tabata. Realmente nos ta buskando un Rei/Reina di Tumba... pero TA BOSO ta Festival di Tumba. Damitanan bunita bisti, Kabayeronan represènt, boso tur bailando, gosando riba ki ku ta ku DJ Ramil a pone. Great!

𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐈 𝐩𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧, tur palabra di éksito risibí, danki pa tur Whatsapp Kòrsou, Aruba i Boneiru- boso tur hamas lo mi lubidá, eternamente agradesido.
