Happy Greek Independence Day 💙🤍
Today in Cyprus it is a Bank Holiday 🫶🏻

Greek Independence Day is celebrated every year on March 25th. It marks the start of Greece’s fight for freedom from the Ottoman Empire back in 1821. After being under Ottoman rule for centuries, the Greeks began a revolution to take back their country—and this day honors the beginning of that journey.

It’s also a double celebration, because it falls on the same day as a big religious holiday in Greece: the Annunciation (when the Virgin Mary was told she would give birth to Jesus), so it’s a pretty important and festive day all around!

We would like to wish everyone Happy Greek Independence Day💙🤍
