Meet our Host !
The Larnaca Cultural Foundation for Children and Youth was created by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2010. It is supported by the Cultural Services and operating as a non for profit organization since then.
Our aim is give the opportunity to every child and young person to participate and experience the artistic and cultural activities in Larnaca and Cyprus in general.
We host weekly workshops such as theater, music, art, creative writing, script writing and film making and organize programs for schools.

About Larnaca city!
If you would like to know more about Larnaca and its amazing history, you just have to take a walk in the city centre (which by the way, is a two minute walk from the foundation).
You will be able to see the historic St. Lazarus Church, the Medieval Castle, the Phinikoudes sea front, the Pierides museum, the Mattei House-Larnaca Club as well as the Old Ottoman Bank.
Also, you will pop into the storytelling statues which will narrate their story and their significance in cultivating the history of Larnaca. You can find out how these statues work and where to find them through the video here: https://youtu.be/EayLGWRb9f8

After our communication with Munincipality of Lakatamia Redesign Fashion Exhibition Event POSTPONED Due to Covid-19 New Measures...They will renovated the place and they will give us New Dates on September.

Μετά τη επικοινωνία που είχαμε με το Δήμο Λακατάμιας μας ανακοινώθηκε ότι η θεματική έκθεση 'Επανασχεδιάζοντας τη μόδα' δεν μπορεί να διεξαχθεί μετά από τη κατάσταση που επικρατή με τον ίον . Επίσης θα ανακαινίσουν το χώρο και μας θα μας δώσουν καινούργια ημερομηνία για αρχές Σεπτεμβρίου .

Earlier this year in spring we got inspired to organise the REDESIGN FASHION EXHIBITION and we have spent the past 6 months developing the idea further.

We feel so blessed that we managed to rise above difficulties during locdown and event restrictions and turn the ideas for the exhibition into reality.

We are greatfull to all of you who believed in this project and supported us in so many ways.

Thank you all for your amazing positive feedback. We believe that together we can evolve it into an even more exciting way to bring knowledge and awareness regarding fashion in these crucial times.

Meet our host !

The village Kalavasos is found at about 40 kilometres south-west of the city of Larnaca. It is built upon the west bank of the Vasilikos river, at an average altitude of 80 meters.The Kalavasos region, privileged in many respects, mainly because of the Vasilikos river that secured irrigation and watering and also because of its metal-bearing deposits, was densely populated since ancient times.

The valley of the Vasilikos river and the entire surrounding area must have been wooded and verdant in previous eras, a fact that also provided -according to the prevailing interpretation -the name of the village. From the ancient Greek word "vassa", which means woody valley, came the name of the community.The Kalavasos settlement was in existence during the Mediaeval era under the same name and is marked in old maps under the name Calavaso and Calavato.

Kalavasos today is a developing community with all the comforts that modern times have to offer. The village daily receives several local and foreign visitors that admire the community's natural beauty and archaeological sites from up close.

Το χωριό Καλαβασός Κύπρος βρίσκεται 40 περίπου χιλιόμετρα νοτιοδυτικά της πόλης της Λάρνακας. Είναι κτισμένο στη δυτική όχθη του Βασιλικού ποταμού, σε μέσο υψόμετρο 80 μέτρων. Η περιοχή ειναι προνομιούχα από πολλές απόψεις και κυρίως λόγο του Βασιλικού ποταμού που εξασφάλιζε την άρδευση και ύδρευση αλλά και των μεταλλοφόρων της κοιτασμάτων, πυκνοκατοικήθηκε από τα αρχαιότατα χρόνια.

Η κοιλάδα του Βασιλικού ποταμού θα πρέπει να ήταν δασωμένη και καταπράσινη σε παλαιότερες εποχές, πράγμα που έδωσε, σύμφωνα προς την επικρατέστερη ερμηνεία και την ονομασία του χωριού. Από την αρχαία ελληνική λέξη "βάσσα", που σημαίνει δασώδης κοιλάδα.Ο οικισμός της Καλαβασού υπήρχε κατά την περίοδο του Μεσαίωνα με την ίδια ονομασία και βρίσκεται σημειωμένος σε παλιούς χάρτες με την ονομασία Calavaso και Calavato.

Σήμερα η Καλαβασός είναι μια αναπτυσσόμενη κοινότητα με όλες τις ανέσεις που προσφέρει η σύγχρονη εποχή. Το χωριό δέχεται καθημερινά αρκετούς ξένους και ντόπιους επισκέπτες που θαυμάζουν από κοντά τις φυσικές ομορφιές και τους αρχαιολογικούς της χώρους.
