Welcome to the Royal Hall, an alternative event venue right on the historic Venetian walls encircling the old town of Nicosia. So much more than just a venue.

This historic old stone building was one of the first cinema and theatre buildings at the time of its construction circa 1950’s. Not much can be found historically about the cinema and any documentation and reference to this historic venue has been through the fading memories of the few remaining local neighbours. As they report, in its glory days, high profile performers such as Sophia Vembo and

Aliki Vouyiouklaki paraded through the doors of the Royal. However around 1982 through a change of ownership and concurrently running political events, the theatre ceased to entertain the public and was used among other things as a jeans making factory, until it was finally sunken into disrepair, as was the fate of so many other historical buildings in the “within-the-walls” town of Nicosia. Ledra Properties Ltd bought the property in 2000 and has transformed the derelict building into a multifunction venue, revamped it with added features but kept the original elements of the building structure intact. The original metallic roof, the wooden stage floor, the theatre balcony and the porous stone walls have been kept intact to accentuate Royals’ former grandeur. The Royal aims to combine old fashioned glamour and ambience with its contemporary industrial upgraded look to a plethora of events ranging from theatres, political rallies, conferences and weddings to your very own Oscar winning moments. Elevating the ordinary to extraordinary, The Royal Hall is in a class of its own. With no precedent of its kind, it will be a jewel in the heart of down town Nicosia. The Royal Hall will give your guests the chance to experience a city that oozes history from every porous stone of the Venetian walls encircling centuries of tradition and culture.
