Want That Perfect Dip Wedding Photo? Practice Makes Perfect! 💃🕺

A dip photo is one of those iconic, romantic wedding shots — but let’s be real, nailing it on the first try (in a heavy wedding dress and dress shoes) isn’t easy. Practicing at home before the big day will help you feel comfortable and confident when it’s go-time. Here’s how to master the dip like a pro:

1️⃣. Find Your Balance First
• The key to a smooth dip is balance.
• The groom (or partner doing the dipping) should plant their feet about shoulder-width apart for stability.
• The person being dipped should relax and lean back slowly — it’s not a trust fall!

2️⃣. Hold the Right Grip
• The “dipper” should place one hand securely around the waist or mid-back for support.
• The “dippee” can place their arm around their partner’s neck or shoulder for balance.
• Keep your core tight and connected — the more secure you feel, the more natural it will look.

3️⃣. Keep the Legs Engaged
• The person dipping should bend their knees slightly for more control.
• The person being dipped should point one foot to keep the lines looking elegant.
• Pro tip: If wearing heels on the big day, practice in them!

4️⃣. Don’t Over-Dip!
• A shallow dip often looks more elegant than a deep one.
• Aim for a 30–45 degree angle rather than going full “Titanic.”
• Over-dipping can make it hard to maintain balance and can look awkward in photos unless you prefect it.
