Planning an outdoor wedding in a hot and humid climate can be challenging, but with the right strategies, we can help you create a beautiful and comfortable event. Here are some tips to consider while scheduling your wedding:

👉Timing **Choose the Right Time of Day**:
- **Late Afternoon or Early Evening**: The temperature tends to be cooler, and the sun is less intense. This timing also provides beautiful lighting for photographs.
- **Avoid Midday**: The heat can be at its peak, making it uncomfortable for guests.
- ** I completely appreciate that many couples desire a longer day for their special occasion. However, based on experience, I’ve found that this often leads to long afternoons of drinking in the sun before dinner and we all know drinking in the sun and heat, can result in some less-than-ideal situations ( it gets messy). So we usually recommend keeping the drinks reception to no longer than 2 hours, especially during the summer.

👉**Consider the Season**:
- Research the typical weather patterns in your chosen location. If possible, pick a time of year when temperatures are generally lower or when humidity is less oppressive.

👉Venue Considerations **Select a Shaded Location**:
- Look for venues that offer natural shade (like trees) or structures to help keep guests cool.
- when considering a venue, evaluate if it has shade over areas such as the ceremony, drinks reception and dinner area.

👉 **Provide Cooling Options**:
- Consider gifting your guests hand fans,
- ask your planner if your venue provides electric fans, outdoor air-conditioner units .
- always plan to Offer shaded areas where guests can retreat if they feel too hot.

👉 # # # Guest Comfort **Hydration Stations**:
- provide your guests with plenty of bottled water to keep guests hydrated.

👉 **Cool Refreshments**:
- Serve cold drinks refreshing non alcoholic drinks and consider light, refreshing snack options during hot periods of the day.
- offer canapés if there are long periods between food, alcohol can have a very strong effect in the heat and humidity.

- consider this also for your wedding attire, Opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics for the wedding party and suggest guests do the same.

- Keep the ceremony brief to minimize exposure to the heat, the legal civil ceremony here in Cyprus is approximately 15 mins from start to finish, if you plan to add your own vows or readings to this be careful to keep them brief.
- keep your formal group photos after the ceremony to a minimum

👉 **Seating Arrangements**:
- Provide fans or parasols for guests to use during the ceremony and reception.

👉 # # # Communication **Inform Guests in Advance**:
- Let your guests know about the weather conditions and what to expect, so they can prepare accordingly.
