“Florence Chong, a Malaysian Coloratura Soprano, began her musical journey as a pianist. She received a full scholarship to pursue the Diploma in Music course at SEGI College Subang Jaya, Malaysia, and graduated with distinction in 2011. In 2013, she was accepted into the prestigious BA in Vocal Studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin. She was awarded this degree, which is validated by Trinity College Dublin, with first-class honours in 2017. Florence was then awarded a Master’s Degree in Solo Singing with cm laude, specializing in Opera Performance, by the Conservatorium Maastricht, the Netherlands, in 2020, where she studied with Yvonne Schiffelers and Abigail Richards. Florence was one of the young artists of The Fat Lady opera group in the Netherlands for the season 2021/22, where she was coached by Tamir Chasson.

Florence has sung in numerous opera productions across Ireland, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Bosnia, and Malaysia. Her repertoire includes notable roles such as Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen, Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone, Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and more. Besides her opera engagements, Florence has left a notable impression on international audiences as a captivating recital artist. She was a featured soloist at several prominent music festivals including the Klang Music Festival in Malaysia, Festival de la Musique in France, Festival Via Musica, and Grachten Festival in the Netherlands, among others. Florence was also one of the featured singers on the CD album “A Musical Portrait” by Hans Leenders, where she recorded two compositions by Hans in 2022.

In recent years, Florence has been traveling extensively, maintaining an active performance schedule spanning between Malaysia and Europe.”

“Kant Lormsomboon, alumni of 🇦🇹 is a versatile musician, educator, and passionate advocate for using music to give back. Starting piano at age 5, he trained with Thai artists like Prof. Nat Yontararak and has since performed at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Kant has collaborated with renowned artists such as Grammy-winner Kenneth Tarver and participated in charity initiatives like “ART for CANCER,” raising funds through his performances. A concert soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral keyboardist, Kant also teaches at the Piano Academy of Bangkok while pursuing his Doctoral degree at Chulalongkorn University, constantly blending performance with pedagogy and community impact.”

Her life was threatened and she was tricked into drinking a heavenly elixir and was exiled to the moon leaving her husband behind.- Jade Rabbit 🐇 ✨

11月17、18日，由华夏文化促进会呈现，中文版大地之歌，这是一次戏剧与音乐的碰撞，购票请留言或Email.

马勒的《大地之歌》是欧洲与中国融合的杰作，舞台理念实现了这一点，这是很少被关注的。这部开创性的中文作品将展示李白、钱起、孟浩然和王维的优美诗篇。

这部作品围绕“死亡”与“自然”的主题，是马勒在患病期间的最后几天创作的。男高音代表“流浪者”，挣扎着放弃物质主义、关系和常态，选择生活在自然中，追求内心的平静——正如马勒在艺术中所追求的那样。在他病重并濒临死亡时，在两个世界之间产生幻觉。

Mahler’s “Das Lied von der Erde“ is primarily a fusion masterpiece between Europe and China, and the staging concept realises this aspect, something that is rarely focused on. This groundbreaking production in chinese will showcase the beautiful poems by Li Bai, Qian Qi, Meng Haoran and Wang Wei.

The composition is centred around the theme of “Death” and “Nature”, composed by Mahler during his last days while suffering from illness. The Tenor represents the “Wanderer”, struggling to give up materialism, relationship and normality, and chooses to live in the nature, in pursuit of inner peace- just as Mahler seeks with art. Due to harsh conditions, he is ill and close to death. He hallucinates between worlds. The Alto, representing his relationships, his youth, and his dreams, eventually takes his life, as the angel of death.
