COUSINES LIKE S**T
(avant trash / Austria)

Cousines like S**t is a Vienna based band consisting of the two cousins Hannah and Laura Breitfuss. Through critical punchlines the Cousines Hannah and Laura Breitfuß proclaim their view on social phenomenons and the paradox of human beings. Their tracks provide the possibility of self reflexion, transmit the feeling of being caught or simply make you smile when acknowledging the comedic character of certain human behavioral patterns.Their sound defies categorization— Cousines like S**t themselves call it AVANT TRASH. That’s also the title of their debut album, released in September 2023 on Seayou Records. Their self proclaimed genre ‚Avant Trash‘ reflects the Cousines’ unique style, their text focused approach and simple but catchy melodies.

LIIEK
(no wave post-punk / Berlin)

If Living in a Fiction were a way of walking, it would start slightly hunched forward, at a brisk pace, eyes fixed on the two or three meters in front of you. That’s how you move through the city when there’s pressure but you don’t want to fight. Was that a stumble? No, that was a lunge — a pas de bo***ée of sound. Loosened up like that, you groove — but only until the next street corner. Now it’s a run — not for training, but for joy. The gaze lifts. Was that a smile?

Text by Jonas Brückner.

BIRTHED FROM NYC, WASTED WATER AND SOAKED IN FORMALDEHYDE, BALACLAVA ANSWERS THE LIFE LONG QUESTION OF WHAT ANIMATED TRASH WOULD SOUND LIKE.

BALACLAVA INVITES YOU INTO THE FRAY, WASTES NO TIME, HANDS YOU A DRINK, AND DELIVERS WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING. THE DISTRACTION YOU NEEDED. THE ANTIDOTE TO THE BUMMER. BALACLAVA IS SCUZZED UP, B**R SOAKED, SYNTH SWIRLING, NECK TWISTING, MUSClE MOVING, GAIN CRANKED, SUGARY SWEET PUNK TUNES THAT LEAVE YOU WITH EAR WORMS THAT BORROW FOR DAYS TO COME. OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS BALA HAVE BEEN CUTTING THEIR TEETH ON JUST ABOUT EVERY DIRTY NYC VENUE FLOOR, LEAVING THOSE WHO ATTEND A SHOW SWEATY, HAPPY, AND HOOKED. FOR LOVERS OF LOUD GUITARS, DELAY SOAKED VOCALS, CRUNCHED UP BASS, OR THE HEAT THAT LINGERS IN THE ROOM ONCE THE SHOW HAS ENDED, LOOK NO FURTHER. SO POUR ANOTHER, PET A DOG, KISS YOUR HOMIES, GRAB A LOVER, PICK UP YOUR FEET AND ENJOY. BALACLAVA LOVES YOU.
