Y’all give a warm welcome to the brand new/fresh blood band in town, Nothing Works !

With members and ex members of bands such as Primitive Life , xCONVICTUSx, DRINK DEEP , Bitter Verses , PRAISE, EU MATEI PEDRO & BIOMA QUEERCORE, they mix 90’s indie/alternative with modern (melodic/post) hardcore, combined with sharp/in-your-face political lyrics, a mix that could be roughly described as “heavy melodic hardcore”.

They are the newest addition to MPB Roster, and y’all will hear a lot about them this year.

TOMAR CONTROL is a political hardcore band from Lima, active since 2014, that never toured Europe or USA, due to visa or economic restrictions.

When we started planing their EU tour in June last year, the ticket prices weren’t so crazy as it is now, which changed after the Peruvian political crises started.

Right now the cheapest (the irony) flight from Lima to Berlin is from Lufthansa and costs around 2500€ for each of the 4 members.

For comparison, the minimum wage to work 40 h a week in Peru atm is 245€ a month.

It’s unfair that such a talented band like them wouldn’t make it to ever play here, because colonialism defined their currency and economy lower than in Europe.

And it’s so sad that money is the reason why so many great bands that are not from the USA or commonwealth countries don’t get the same chance to tour an European run the same way as bands from white privileged countries can do.

We started a GoFundMe campaign for them, but it’s going very slow. (Link in BIO)

That’s why I had the idea of organising a benefit concert for them.

It will take place at AUTOBAHN

Erica Freas (she / they) is an underground songmaker from North America living in the UK. Freas has released music and toured the world with bands RVIVR, SOMNIA, Hot Tears and as a solo performer. Her solo acoustic songs are simple, yet bring an emotional and often political depth that has resonated with listeners since the 00's. They say "I haven't played Berlin since 2019 and am really fu***ng excited to be invited back for such a cool event."
