ARDEA Cultural management platform and dissemination of artistic projects. Focus on music and performing arts. Focus (mainly) on artists from Latin America.

// ---------------

ARDEA was created with the aim of bringing productions by artists (mainly) from Latin America to the Berlin audience. It is both a production agency and a platform for dissemination. Anchor and bridge. In ARDEA, the focus will be on music, but other artistic expressions, particularly the performing arts and interdisciplinary proposals, will also have their place.

Due to hate speech received because of the live-stream of the and in order to respect the decision of the space owner, I regret to announce the cancellation of the streaming of the conference at on Friday and Saturday. I also want to express my solidarity with the space.

The perpetrators of the hate comments are individuals who (surprise) not only fail to distinguish between antisemitism and anti-Zionism, but in the face of an invitation to dialogue and exchange, only resort to verbal violence and unjustified defamation.

Same new old story.

The good news: The transmission of the talks on Sunday will continue, as planned, at . So come and join us!
There will be drinks and we will even try to have some snacks! You are more than welcome to bring snacks to share too!

And regarding Friday and Saturday: we can all meet in (organized by ).

Ignorance can be dangerous , they say. In the last six month, we can confirm this statement EVERY DAY.

But we have to be stronger. So lets listen, learn, talk, connect!

See you around!

LIVE STREAMING: PALESTINE CONGRESS
A collective listening for a collective struggle.

Tickets for are sold out, but demand isn’t! So, we’re joining the call for a collective live-streaming!

This Friday 12, Saturday 13, and Sunday 14 of April, and open their doors for gathering and group listening. There will be drinks and between one talk and another, the chance to expand circles and exchange ideas.

The days, places, and times for the streaming are:

Friday 12.04: from 2 to 7.45pm at (Jessnestraße 33, 10247 Berlin)

Saturday 13.04: from 10am-1pm at (Jessnestraße 33, 10247 Berlin)

Sunday 14.04: from 10am to 2:30pm at (Karl-Marx-Str. 28, 12043 Berlin)

You can see the full program on the bio and website.

Entrance is FREE. However, we’ll have a donation box available, so whoever can and wants to, can contribute. The proceeds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians ().

Why watch a live-streaming in a group when you can watch it in the comfort of your home? Simple: because there’s no struggle without learning, and learning only happens through dialogue.

See you there, then?

GERMAN in caption

In Gaza a genocide is being carried, and one of the many strategies of genocide is to dehumanize their victims. This exhibition aims to confront this strategy by focusing on the richness of Palestinian culture and its people, as well as support the struggle for liberation in the international framework.

This Open Call #1 is looking for photographers and photojournalists who would like to collaborate by sending photographs of demonstrations in support of Palestine in different cities around the world.

To participate, send 1 to 3 photos (in high quality) to [email protected], indicating DATE and PLACE where the demonstration took place.Deadline: 07.01.2024.

The exhibited photos will be offered for sale, and the proceeds from the sale - together with the entry contributions - will be donated to Palestinian initiatives in the Diaspora.

IMPORTANT: this is a collective exhibition that focuses on the collective rather than on the particular artists. For this reason, and for the safety of the participating photographers, the exhibition will remain ANONYMOUS, i.e. the names of the photographers will not appear. However, in case a photo is sold, and the artist wishes it, the name will be put on the back of the photo when it is awarded.

The exhibition will take place in a gallery in Friedrichshain, Berlin, in mid-February 2024 (space to be announced closer to the date).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write to [email protected]

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING AND FOR SHARING IT!

And THANK YOU for the support!

MEET THE ARTIST #6: A rainbow, please + Antto + B&C

This 14.09, team roles change: Rica and Antto momentarily abandon the console to become A Rainbow Please, and to take us to Chilean landscapes; Belén closes the excel and sinks into the word. Three very different styles, but that somehow find a common path in their intimate and introspective character.

A Rainbow Please is a music project by . She currently works on her debut album Pyrola Sands, which has elements of experimental pop, jazz, psychedelic rock and ranges from distorted repetitive moments and the beauty of simplicity to complex harmonic structures.

is a multi-instrumentalist Musician, Sound Engineer, Producer and Filmmaker from Chile, whose journey through life has been one of passion, curiosity, and creativity. Broken hearts, their upcoming album, is Inspired by Violeta Parra, and in which they exposes their sentimentals and simplest songs from the deepest pain and desolation of love sickness.

B&C (.marinato+) will perform a handful of songs that flirt with singer-songwriter, jazz and Argentine popular music. They are songs in which the music is at the service of the word. But it is at the same time a rebellious service. The duo is part of a bigger project: giraiz.

MEET THE ARTIST #5: D.$AHIN

D.$AHIN () is an allrounder in a world of specialists. The Berlin based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is proof that one does not need to commit to one thing, as she embarks on a musical journey that combines an earthy blend of R&B and indie-rock-pop with her soulful, reassuring voice.
Originally from Istanbul, D.$AHIN came to Germany in the early 1990's with her family as refugees and was granted asylum and eventually citizenship as a teenager. Growing up between the two worlds of traditional Turkish music (she studied Saz, the Turkish 'guitar') and western pop music shaped her instincts and sound as a singer early on.

MEET THE ARTIST #2: Kayan Project

KAYAN PROJECT ( ) is deeply influenced by Middle Eastern culture, particularly from the Levant-Mediterranean region. Led by vocalist Eden Cami, the band creates a captivating and emotional atmosphere, improvising and composing their own music. Kayan Project's music is a beautiful blend of genres, combining two sister languages and traditions, Arabic and Jewish. The remarkable instrumental sound of double bass, aoud, and percussions adds to the uniqueness of their compositions.

“In fact, it is not just musical and stylistic boundaries that become pervious as Cami sings in both Hebrew and Arabic, and so Arabic and Hebrew poetry find their way into music through her voice, through Oud, bass and percussion”
(Jan Wagner, DIE ZEIT)

Meet the artist #6: Otto Hirte Septett feat. Mirna Bogdanovic

Otto Hirte Septett finds its inspiration in modern straight ahead jazz and swing. One could think that there is a similarity to the sound of the Gerry Mulligan Concert.
Without harmony instruments like guitar or piano the whole sound of the wind section comes to the fore - sometimes scratchy and biting and on the other hand warm and soft, quiet or loud; Otto Hirte makes use of all these parameters to make the program as varied as possible.
For the program with the multiple award-winning singer Mirna Bogdanovic, pieces by her as well as several standards from the Great American Songbook were arranged by the leader of the ensemble, which is complemented by a program of new compositions.

Mirna Bogdanovic

At the age of two, Bosnian-Slovenian vocalist Mirna Bogdanović had already faced more hardship than most, forced to flee her country with her parents at the hand of war. Now firmly established on the Berlin scene, she’s made a name for herself as an emotive songwriter, Downbeat award-winning vocalist and performer.
Combining instrumental music with vocals, as well as jazz with electronics and pop, her 2021 debut "Confrontation" won the Deutscher Jazzpreis for "Debut Album of The Year".
Her introspective sophomore album ‘Awake’, is out May 12th 2023 on Berthold Records.
Produced by celebrated London multi-instrumentalist/producer Chris Hyson (Snowpoet), it showcases a sound which is rich, varied and modern. Layers of vocal harmonies, synth textures, and effects are woven into the already-complex sound of her expanded ensemble.
