Ever contemplated the sonic characteristics of a combustion engine?

The live concert and installation ‘Aus dem Maschinenraum’, born from research into industrial sounds—historic lorry engines, a Rhine ship engine, diesel locomotives, Lamborghinis, Trabbis and more—brings this question into motion.

This Sunday at Hošek Contemporary this research comes to life with live electronics, cello and bass clarinet, video and live overhead projections.

San Francisco-based harsh noise artist Evicshen focuses on the spatiality and physicality of sound in relation to the human body. Using modular synthesizers, vinyl records and self-built electronics, she creates chaotic, textured music that challenges conventional harmony, leading The Quietus to describe her 2020 debut album 'Hair Birth' as “a coruscating folio of sonic art”.

She performs at our next Kiezsalon in the Musikbrauerei on Friday, 3. October, along with James Blackshaw and Mayssa Jallad.
