Idstein is a medieval Town on the outskirts of Frankfurt and has the most wonderful array of "Fachwerk" houses, half timbered houses that date back to the 15th Century. On a beautiful sunny afternoon in June, it was my absolute pleasure and honour to conduct a bilingual Wedding Ceremony for this adorable couple, in the garden of the groom's family home, in a charming historic home, on one of the oldest streets in this city.

With an international guest list, friends from their childhood, university and their professional lives, they shared their precious vows under a rose arch in a beautiful courtyard garden, and raised their glasses to a heartwarming toast given by the groom's parents.

With a string quartet playing classical and modern music for the entry and recessional, and for the entertainment of all the guests, it was one of the most atmospheric and genuinely authentic moments of celebration.

The love between these two shone as brightly as the sun on this perfect day!

Such a happy couple and a really romantic ceremony which was spontaneously translated into Spanish by the bride’s brother for her family members ! A very sweet way to include everyone in this special occasion.

The wedding season is in full swing and even though it is considerably quieter than in previous years, these are such a joy to be a part of in real life, standing with my couples and their families and closest friends, as well as afterwards, when I see the beautiful images captured by their amazing talented photographers! In working with them and a wonderful planner here too, I am so very grateful for the opportunities this gives me to create ceremony, hold space, unite couples and families in a meaningful way and also indulge my own love of travel and adventure!

This intimate elopement for J and L still gives me goosebumps!! With beautiful rituals to ground them and with a surprise script peppered with German love and marriage quotes this was so perfect!!

So my wedding yesterday for K and J went off beautifully! They held it in the groom’s family home and garden which was decorated with a stunning rose bower arch!! We included a ring warming ritual which was a new experience for most and they all loved that the script was in English and German to include everyone.

An intimate personal experience for the couple and their families and of course their guests, who came from far and wide to celebrate with them in Idstein, this gorgeous town filled with stunning half timbered houses dating back as far as the 15th century! As it’s a private home I can’t share much but believe me it was a day filled with love and emotion!

I am so grateful to my couples for sharing their experiences and stories and it really is an honour to be chosen as their celebrant.

I have to say there is nothing sweeter than receiving a hand written card, and this one from M and D following their Wedding at earlier this month was so heart-warming. Particularly as they had entrusted me with a script they said they would love to hear for the first time on the day itself.

So as we stood together on the meadow overlooking Lake Thun, and being watched over by the glorious Bernese Oberland in the distance, it was an absolute honour and joy to tell their story, and to witness their love for each other, and the delight they experienced in their destination wedding at this wonderful venue in Switzerland!

M and D, I wish you nothing but joy and happiness, and may your appreciation for each other, your enthusiasm and wonder at this life you have built together, and it’s treasures, never grow old.

A journey begins with one step…. Something that I am so proud and grateful for is the step I took to becoming a Celebrant. I simply cannot imagine doing anything more fulfilling than helping others to take their next steps - into a lifelong commitment and their marriage and offering such an amazing choice, flexibility and support through symbolism and ritual and of course, storytelling.

Being part of a community that is based around strong ethical values and the principles of integrity, professionalism, inclusivity and collaboration makes me proud and happy every day.

What a gorgeous wedding weekend Woodhall Manor for C and P a few weeks ago! Literally airborne, with joy and happiness!

At their bilingual wedding ceremony they chose the Unity Candle ritual which was so beautiful because they invited their mothers to light their individual candles, which they held for a few moments before lighting their Unity Candle.
