"When the music hits..." It was such a vibe to be able to string up our system ❤️ Big thanks for giving us the opportunity (thanks to the neighbours as well lol) - because as we all know, spaces for Soundsystem are scarse, spaces for promoting and sharing Roots Music practically do not exist. A Roots Music Dance is not a rave, doesn't bring as much profit - but it's necessity, importance and value in these shifting times is not questionable. 🧿🎶✨

🦁 Las hijas del root llegaron desde Berlín. En su viaje en escoba atravesaron lagos y cordilleras y pelearon contra las tormentas. A la entrada de La Palma tuvieron el último chaparrón y por fin llegaron a La Casa. Allí las recibimos entre gritos de alegría. 💓🙌💓

'The daughters of the root came from Berlin. On their broomstick journey, they crossed lakes and mountain ranges, fought storms, and braved the winds. At the gates of La Palma, the last downpour caught them — but at last, they arrived at La Casa. There, we welcomed them with cries of joy. Reggae, dub, vinyls, sound system, good vibes... the sun was setting over Tazacorte'.

Throwback to last week, celebrating 80 years of the legend, Bob Marley, and the power of his music that transcends time and place.
From young to old, near and far, the message continues to bring us all together. "Whether you be 7 or 91!"
And while the music still hits strong, there are less and less spaces for Roots and Culture and Reggae in general in Berlin.
With the temporarily closed Yaam, and only one Venue where you can string up a Soundsystem, there is very little ground to build on.
Why is this happening, Berlin family?
We all know, from a capitalist perspective, it's not profitable enough.. it doesn't serve the empire, never has and never will...

Big up veterans to keeping the spirit alive & holding it down for decades, even when the spaces fade.

While reminiscing on last year's wonderful time in Montreal in February, we give thanks for many years of this journey Jah put us on, for all the inspiring and uplifting souls we've had the opportunity to hold a medz with ❤️✨
And although in Babylon the pressure is high to post, post post, be present on social media to share achievements, selfies and whatnot, we intentionally took the end/beginning of this Gregorian cycle to reflect and connect with the pure core of what drives us. It is far beyond of what is visible to the eye, far beyond running tunes. It has always been liberation, humbly amplifing the wisdom of the elders which is now more relevant than ever.
That's why we feel blessed to honour the earth day of a true messenger today: Bob Marley!
