Out now! Last Dance could be the soundtrack to an Edgar Allen Poe film in which you can hear the voices of the ghosts in the House of Usher. The song captivates with its spherical and other earthly soundscapes. A call from a long-forgotten dream that describes the downfall of man in paradise. One last kiss, one last dance before we lose our innocence. We humans are childlike and playful beings until our hunger for more catches up with us and we so often lose sight of the big picture in our naive self-centredness. Darkness and the unpredictable lie within us and can become our greatest enemy. "You lean out so far my love, so far out..."

Swamp Booking is excited to welcome Gloria de Oliveira to the roster.

German-Brazilian musician and visual artist Gloria de Oliveira’s full length, self-produced debut “Fascination” was released via Reptile Music/Cargo Records in 2020, including remixes by Gudrun Gut and Fragrance. It was the follow-up to her 2019 EPs “La Rose de Fer” and “Lèvres de Sang” (named after the vampire film classics by Jean Rollin). Her bewitching sound spectrum is often enhanced by her densely atmospheric, self-directed music videos & visuals. Her latest record, “Oceans of Time”, a collaboration with long-time David Lynch-collaborator and sound designer Dean Hurley, was released on Sacred Bones and recommended as „an ethereal gem“ by Loud and Quiet Magazine

What doesn't kill you makes you tougher. It's a phrase that you often come across in life. I don't think it's true - if you learn to really listen, the things you've experienced will make you more vulnerable and sensitive to your environment. Some people experience their world as emotionally darker than others. Through melancholy and pain, they feel more strongly that they are alive. There are studies on whether we go through life with a glass half full or a glass half empty. This is not only due to childhood experiences, but also to our nature, our personality, we come into the world with. This song deals with the subject of depression and self-acceptance and i feel very much connected with this piece.

We saw the towers fall, when we first met in person!
I had designed a poster for your show, but made a terrible mistake.
We had shop windows in our office at that time, so we hung a few of the thousand posters in our window. I saw a bunch of italians outside on the street and discussing the poster. Than they rang the bell. "Has this show already happened?" was their question. I had put the wrong month on the poster. So i printed out a thousand nines and in a days work we glued the right date on all of the posters. September 11th, 2001.
At the day of the show we where sitting in a hotelroom near Ostbahnhof, seeing the second plane crash into the tower. and then they collapsed. Spechless we where letting the soundcheck pass. After the show you could not fly home cause all airtraffic was suspended. So we payed your stay untill you could fly home.
In the following years i organised all Shellac shows in Germany. I never could make a suggestion. Every couple of years Bob was sendin me an email, saying we wanna play this and this date at that city. So i did it and attended all of the show.
All of the concerts where pure magic. The essence of music, you could do with a guitar, bass and drums. A guitar like a razorblade accompanied by the drumming of Todd Trainer and and the bass of Bob Weston. You ingnored all rules of music business and where a force of true art.
I was just waiting on the next Email, and i am shocked to realize, it will never come.

We are very happy to announce that the German-based musician Joanna Gemma Auguri joined our roster!

Joanna is generally available for the rest of 2024 in support of her upcoming album, "Hiraeth" , due to be out on June 28th, via Duchess Box Records.

HIRAETH is a dream of the unconscious, it is solace, a place where the unsaid finds a form. Music to give space to all the emotions that lie dormant within us. The songs tell of the vulnerable side of being human, the fears and dreams that may not be realisable and the place that we may never reach. There is perhaps immeasurable power and inspiration in all these longings. And when the world comes to an end, this is the perfect, bittersweet soundtrack for it.

With the start of the pandemic Joanna decided, that it was time to focus on her own music. With an accordion, a zither and her unique voice she recorded “11”, her first album. She self-produced everything and started her own label “Lavender Music”. The album came out in 2021 and laid the foundation for everything that was about to materialize. “I became a booker, a producer, a label manager and played my music” Joanna describes the amount of dedication, that went into the project. Her next goal was to record an album, that would focus on the diversification of sounds and instruments. HIRAETH was born. The Welsh word describes a blend of homesickness, nostalgia and longing. A pull on the heart that conveys a distinct feeling of missing something irretrievably lost. A feeling that accompanied Joanna for all her live, and that she wanted to express in the compositions. After a year of writing songs, planning the album and the search for a producer Joanna decided to work with Ingo Krauss. He had run the Conny Plank Studio for over a decade, before opening Candy Bomber Studios in the closed down Tempelhof airport in the heart of Berlin.

One of the songs of the album features British actress and musician Keely Forsyth.

The song deals with how the great and hopeful feelings you have for someone can suddenly turn into coldness and indifference. A painful awakening from a state of projection and dreaming. It is an inevitable fall and yet you remember the magic. I often ask myself what constitutes love in our time and our society, but also through our expectations. The song reflects the beauty and parting of intense encounters in our lives.

With its beat and brass sections, the song almost sounds like a pop song. And yet the zither plays its eerie song underneath and breaks up the classical structure.
