Życzę Wam , żeby dziś, lub jakiegoś innego, pięknego dnia, mężczyźni przez chwilę stali się wami. I zrozumieli. Poczuli. Pojęli.
Jak to jest, kiedy facet każe ci urodzić, kiedy ty tego nie chcesz, i jak to jest nie móc mieć dziecka, kiedy tego pragniesz. Jak to jest kiedy on stosuje wobec ciebie przemoc ekonomiczną, bo przecież nie zarabiasz gotując i wychowując jego potomstwo, jak to jest kiedy biegasz wieczorem po parku i nie słuchasz muzyki, bo trzeba być czujną… jak to jest kiedy długość sukienki lub głębokość dekoltu staje się przedmiotem podświadomych rozważań - zgwałci/nie zgwałci, jak to jest kiedy w te dni trzeba unikać jasnych ubrań. Jak to jest wydepilować całe ciało woskiem, i jak to jest, kiedy patrzą i szepczą, kiedy tego nie zrobisz. Jak to jest dostawać za wykonanie tej samej pracy 17% mniejsze wynagrodzenie, niż kolega z biura obok.
Panowie. “Być kobietą” w Polsce (i nie tylko) to wyzwanie.
Niech przestanie nim być.
Wszystko tkwi w głowie, zmieńmy myślenie, krok po kroku. Zróbmy to wspólnie słuchając się nawzajem. Swoich potrzeb, swoich pragnień, w zgodzie z prawem, które wobec każdego człowieka, bez względu na jego płeć, jest równe.

Disco and house DJ, producer Midnight Riot label head and journalist Andy Williams has died.

Also known under aliases such as Yam Who? and Qwestlife, the latter in collaboration with Tom Laroye, Williams was a staple of the UK music scene for more than three decades.

He founded the music labels ISM Records, Midnight Riot and Black Riot, releasing tracks from the likes of Amp Fiddler, Robert Owens, Eli Escobar, Arthur Baker, MIchael Gray, Birdee, Hifi Sean and Groove Assassin.

In 2017 Mixmag named Midnight Riot as one of the most influential disco labels of the last decade.

Williams also released music of his own, most notably as Yam Who?, which started as a duo with Des Morgan before becoming Williams’ solo venture, across his own labels and others, such as Papa Records, Electric Minds and Ubiquity.

As a member of DJ and production Qwestlife, he co-released multiple records on Defeected sublabel Glitterbox, including 2020 album ‘Prophecy’.

As a DJ he would often appear on the line-ups of events and clubs such as Glitterbox, Ministry of Sound, Horse Meat Disco, Love International and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Williams was also the disco editor of Mixmag from 2016 to 2020 with a column in the monthly print magazine.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Yasiin Bey shared his thoughts on the state of the music industry, comparing the challenges he faced early in his career to today’s streaming driven landscape.

His upcoming album, The Forensics, a collaboration with The Alchemist, is on the way, though no release date has been announced. Instead of a traditional streaming rollout, Bey describes the release strategy as “lo-fi, hi-tech, high art,” hinting at a more unconventional approach.
