ēāu is a collective where tradition meets innovation, blending South Asian musical heritage with contemporary folk, electronic, and drone soundscapes.

Ali Moraly, musician and writer from Damascus based in Berlin, brings a poetic and intermedial approach to sound through violin, composition, and improvisation.

Together with invited artists, ēāu & Ali Moraly and Friends present an evening of improvisation within a shared musical framework — a live exploration where sound, presence, and spontaneity meet.

Alobour (The Crossing) is an initiative dedicated to crossing cultures, establishing Arabic and Egyptian tunes and melodies within Berlin’s contemporary soundscape. At this event, four acts move between heritage, experimentation, psychedelia, and dancefloor resistance.

20:30 – Object Obscure
Berlin-based Egyptian musician and sound designer Samir Nabil performs improvised and arranged electric guitar pieces infused with microtonal objects, resonator pads, arpeggiated pianos, and subtle beats reimagining Egyptian songs through nocturnal, industrial, and introspective soundscapes.

22:00 – Hank & Rank
Abeer Ali & Ayoup Saed (vocals), Dima Dawood (qanun), Tarek Charbel (oud), and George Saade (percussion) revisit the bold late 19th–early 20th century Egyptian “Henkw Renk” repertoire, songs of desire, wit, and social tension, not as nostalgia, but as living questions about body, freedom, and voice today.

23:30 – Ghurab
An Egyptian psychedelic project presenting the new album Sharq ElGabbana, a sonic journey through Cairo’s historic cemeteries, blending Eastern tonalities, Sufi atmospheres, and experimental textures. An immersive experience of memory and transformation.

01:00 – Mazloum.music
Berlin-based Lebanese artist weaving politically charged free jazz, saxophone improvisations, electronic textures, and groovy polyrhythms — turning the dancefloor into a space of collective liberation.

This event is taking place at 90mil, a non-profit, DIY space near Jannowitzbrücke, Berlin. Entrance is via suggested donation at the door only. You must be a member to enter. You can become a guest member at the door for an annual fee of €5. Your membership is valid for a year.

A night of resonance, memory, rebellion, and movement.

ندعوكم للمشاركة بحفل ما قبل إصدار ألبوم سردي فردي (Odd Narative) للمؤلف والموسيقي أيمن عصفور.

يمزج المشروع بين الجمل المصرية الكلاسيكية والطاقة الديناميكية للإيقاعات الفردية، حيث تتقاطع الحكاية الموسيقية والمقام العربي مع تراكيب إيقاعية غير مألوفة.

في هذا الحدث الخاص يقدم الموسيقيون المؤلفات لأول مرة بدون مشاركة أيمن عصفور شخصياً بالعزف، تقدم المؤلفات مع التأويل الشخصي والأرتجالي للموسيقيين.

Pre-release album "Sardy fardy" concert

We invite you to experience our pre-release of Sardy Fardy ( Odd Narrative) music album by composer and musician Ayman Asfour.

The project blends elegant phrases with the dynamic rhythms of individual pieces, where the traditional Arabic narrative intersects with unconventional rhythmic structures.

This special event features the musicians performing the compositions for the first time without Ayman Asfour personally playing them. The compositions are presented with the musicians' personal interpretations and improvisations.

Bishoy Youssef — Percussion

These compositions were produced with the support of "Afac" the Arab foundation for Arts and culture, musical production.

إقامة ودراسة فنية وتأمل روحي في تناقضات الصمت والترحال، تُقام في الفترة من 2 إلى 7 فبراير في سقارة والفيوم، مصر.

تيسّر الإقامة الفنانة التشكيلية سهاد الخطيب (فلسطين/الأردن)، من خلال ورش عمل فنية وممارسات تأملية باستخدام الحبر والماء كوسائط للأثر والانسياب والتحوّل، إلى جانب التنقّل بين التعدّد الطبيعي لصحراء مصر وريفيّها.

وتشارك الفنانة الأدائية عبير علي (مصر/برلين) في تيسير جلسة حكي ختامية بالتعاون مع سهاد، للتعبير الشفهي والكتابي، وتأمّل الحضور في اللحظة، والتجربة المعيشة للإقامة، والطبقات والانطباعات التي تتشكّل داخل المجموعة.

لا يشترط وجود خبرة سابقة، والإقامة مفتوحة للجميع.

As silence, so is story. As stillness, so is movement.
An artistic residency and study, alongside a spiritual inquiry into the paradoxes of silence and journeying, taking place from February 2–7 in Saqqara and Fayoum, Egypt.

The residency is facilitated by visual artist Suhad Al-Khatib (Palestine/Jordan), through art workshops and contemplative practices using ink and water as vessels of trace, flow, and transformation, alongside movement through Egypt’s diverse desert and countryside landscapes.

Theatre performer Abeer Ali (Egypt/Berlin) joins Suhad in facilitating a final storytelling session for spoken and written expression, reflecting on presence, the lived experience of the residency, and the layered impressions formed within the group.

No prior experience is required, and the residency is open to all.
