This Is Ska Festival 2025
Liebe Ska-Gemeinde,
es ist endlich so weit: wir präsentieren euch das komplette Line Up des 28. THIS IS SKA FESTIVALS. Nachdem ihr im September schon den ersten Schwung Bands erfahren habt, legen wir nun nach: die jamaikanische Legende The Pioneers werden eines ihrer raren Konzerte geben. DOREEN SHAFFER, the Queen Of Ska, Sängerin der legendären Skatalites, ist seit über 7 Jahren überhaupt wieder live zu sehen. Wir freuen uns total! Und eine echte Sensation: Jamaika hat einen neuen aufgehenden Ska-Stern. JUNIOR DELL wird zum ersten Mal in Europa auf einer Open Air Bühne stehen. Seid gespannt auf diesen tollen Künstler. Wir sind begeistert. Der nächste Knaller: Booze & Glory sind erstmals auf einem Skafest mit ihren Reggae Sessions (zusammen mit den The Gamblers ) zu Gast. Unsere Freunde von NO SPORTS beehren uns zusammen mit japanischen Gästen: THE SPYMAKER sind endlich wieder beim THIS IS SKA. Dazu seht ihr viele weitere aufregende Künstler.
Es gibt außerdem eine Neuerung, die uns ab jetzt die nächsten Jahre begleiten wird. Jede Ausgabe des THIS IS SKA wird einem Altvorderen unserer Szene gewidmet. Wir starten in diesem Jahr mit dem Godfather des Ska, mit Laurel Aitken. Das LAUREL AITKEN EXPERIENCE wird sich dem musikalischen Erbe des Meisters widmen, viele Band werden weitere Reminiszenzen beisteuern. Dazu gibt es weitere Specials rings um den großartigen jamaikanischen Künstler. Seid gespannt.

Dear Ska community,
the time has finally come: we present you the complete line-up of the 28th THIS IS SKA FESTIVAL. After you found out about the first batch of bands in September, we are now following up: The jamaican legend THE PIONEERS will be giving one of their rare concerts. DOREEN SHAFFER, the Queen Of Ska, singer of the legendary Skatalites, will be performing live again for the first time in over 7 years. We are absolutely delighted! And a real sensation: Jamaica has a new rising Ska star. JUNIOR DELL will be performing on an open air stage in Europe for the first time. Be excited about this great artist. We are thrilled. The next big thing: BOOZE & GLORY will be guests at a Skafest for the first time with their Reggae Sessions (together with the Gamblers). Our friends from NO SPORTS will be honoring us with Japanese guests: SPYMAKER are finally back at THIS IS SKA. You will also see many other exciting artists.
There is also an innovation that will accompany us for the next few years. Each issue of THIS IS SKA will be dedicated to a veteran of our scene. This year we are starting with the Godfather of Ska, LAUREL AITKEN. The LAUREL AITKEN EXPERIENCE will be dedicated to the master's musical legacy, and many bands will contribute further reminiscences. There will also be other specials relating to the great Jamaican artist. Stay tuned.
