ITB Berlin - World's Leading Travel Trade Show®
Since 1966, ITB Berlin has been the cradle, shop window and telescope of the tourism industry and thus is known as the Leading Travel Trade Show for the global travel industry. The show takes place annually in March at the Berlin ExpoCenter City exhibition grounds and is organised by Messe Berlin GmbH. ITB Berlin is where the Who is Who of the travel industry meets. Around two thirds of the exhibitors and around 47% of the trade visitors travel from abroad and have a high level of decision-making authority. ITB Berlin is the central communication and marketing forum and the travel industry's largest service trade show. It offers exhibitors the ideal opportunity to address not only trade visitors but also the private public. The satisfaction of the exhibitors is over 90 percent. The trade visitors' intention to visit again and their satisfaction are equally high. The exhibitors at ITB Berlin originate from all sectors of the international tourism industry. Participants are national and regional tourism organizations, tourist boards, tour operators, travel agencies, carriers, hotels, travel insurance companies, car rental companies, suppliers to the tourism industry, communication and information systems, publishers and international tourism umbrella organizations.
Visitor target groups
The trade visitors come from all sectors of the tourism value chain and include tour operators, travel agency staff, hotel managers, tourism organisations, journalists, travel managers, consultants, etc. More than 70 percent of the private visitors come from the Berlin-Brandenburg area, the rest from other federal states in Germany and the neighbouring country Poland.
The ITB Buyers Circle (www.itbbuyerscircle.com), the exclusive meeting place of ITB Berlin, is aimed at 1,000 hand-picked top buyers from the travel industry, who benefit from many advantages of the ITB Buyers Circle.
ITB Berlin Convention
Since 2004, the ITB Berlin Convention (www.itb-convention.com) has been held in conjunction to the trade show. It is the world's largest tourism convention with 300 top speakers* and more than 150 sessions over 4 days. Seminars, keynotes, symposia, workshops, deep dives, award ceremonies and press conferences cover the latest issues of the tourism industry. Participation in the ITB Berlin Convention is included in the exhibition ticket.
