OPENLESS 1
Remembering the first night of OPENLESS by Berlin Atonal last year. It played out in the space between music and sound design, research and journalism, art and performance. It premiered a major new project with Forensis and Bill Kouligas. The Drum and The Bird transposed the group’s renowned research techniques into large-scale public performance. The night also featured A Forbidden Distance, a world premiere by Saint Abdullah, Eomac and Rebecca Salvadori as well a new work by legendary field recordist Chris Watson and Izabela Dluzyk. These pieces were created with Unsound, Semibreve and Sonar as part of the TIMES platform. Lord Spikeheart performed at full power to close the night.
Pre-registration for Berlin Atonal 2025 festival passes is now open.

Tonight (12/09) at 21:00 during Universal Metabolism at BA23, Robin Fox present his polysensory massive-scale laser work Triptych. An “audio-visual space-time carving,” this work employs laser projectors to metamorphose the massive Kraftwerk interior and won Fox the “Isao Tomita Special Prize” from this year’s Prix Ars Electronica. This piece caps the exhibition programme which opens from 16:00 on that day and features Romeo Castellucci, Marco Fusinato, Ain Bailey, Tot Onyx and Yuko Kaseki, Cyprien Gaillard and over a dozen more sculptural, performance and sound artists.
Tickets available online and on the door today and allow access to the exhibition and concert.
