Dr Silvio De Bono (IDEA College Malta) then joined the discussion to provide an educator perspective, before handing over to Suzan Mozher (Head of Education for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, British Council), who not only outlined the UK’s efforts in supporting students from across the region, but also reflected on the Saudi student mobility system.

🤝 The meeting hall in Goa is alive with energy today at the sold-out ICEF South Asia, with over 3,600 meetings scheduled during this event.

📈 With the number of internationally mobile students from India continuing to grow, it has been debated whether India has the potential to overtake China as the leading source of international students. In India’s favour, it is projected to exceed China both in terms of overall population and the number of 18 - 22 year olds by 2030. However, with China boasting a much higher GDP per capita, as well as higher tertiary enrolment ratio and outbound student mobility ratio, it has the potential to remain ahead. Nevertheless, uncertainty over China’s economy, combined with India’s impressive growth means that India could edge ahead in the coming years.
