Dear all,

Due to the countless expressions of sympathy, which I unfortunately cannot answer individually in a timely manner, I would like to thank you all in this way.

For every kind word, for every dear call, for every card, every email and public support I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It is touching to feel how popular my Leyla was and is with all of you. And also she had taken you all in her heart. You were all an important and beloved part of her life and thoughts.

Remember Leyla not only in mourning but also in joy, for she is now in a better place and a laugh in her memory she hears up there preferable than crying.

I have collected some condolences published on the internet and created a virtual condolence book (link see comments). There you can share your fondest memories and photos with Leyla.

Special thanks to you, my family, all the helpers and André Elbing who documented Leyla's last journey in pictures and sound and made it into a slideshow video (link see comments) and Vicky as our webmaster.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend Leyla's funeral or was with me and our family in their thoughts during these difficult hours.

The final curtain has fallen for my great love Leyla after a long, serious illness on 21.05.2022.

Full of gratitude, I look back on 37 years of intimate love and deep connection. She was the centre of my life and of our 30-year stage career. I was privileged to share my life with an extraordinary woman, choreographer and dancer.

Together we were able to explore the world and meet countless fantastic people/artists, dancers and experience many friendships worldwide.

With great gratitude to our audience and guests, our beloved ensemble, our project groups and workshop participants, fellow artists, judges, contestants, sponsors, photographers, technicians, specialist magazines, agencies, organisers, vendors, helpers, friends and family and the many others, we take our final bow.

The funeral will take place on 01.06.2022 at 12.00 o'clock in the chapel of the "Alter Friedhof" in 47057 Duisburg-Neudorf, Sternbuschweg 295, Germany.

I ask for your understanding that it may take a little more time to reply to messages of condolence due to the large number of messages. Thank you very much for your sympathy.
