SEE YOU IN 2026!

Some days have now passed since the final chords of our 9th edition, and we’re still feeling the afterglow. We believe this was one of our strongest editions yet, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

Thank you to all of our competition partners, especially to Klaipėda Piano Masters, Lithuanian Music Competitions, Malmö Piano Competition, Musica Vitale, Riga International Competition for Young Pianists, and the Carl Bechstein Stiftung for their support in selecting the scholarship recipients. Thank you to our dear sponsors, including the AKB Foundation, KWS Saat AG, KSN, and others, without whom this academy wouldn‘t be possible.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our hosts - Einbecker Kulturbüros, TangoBrücke, the Mendelssohn-Musikschule Einbeck, the Junge Linde, Anna-Barbara Göttsche, Familie Grupe, D Room Recording Studio as well as our concert partners Einbecker Brauhaus, Tutti Club, Tonart Wolfenbüttel, Theater in der List, St. Sixti Church, and to our patron, District Administrator (Landrätin) Astrid Klinkert-Kittel, for granting us the opportunity to use the magnificent Steinway & Sons D Model piano for both lessons and concerts.

Last but certainly not least, heartfelt thanks to our amazing audiences, who filled the sold-out halls at every concert. Your energy and passion for music are our greatest source of inspiration. See you next March!

DAY 9 // THE LAST ONE

Our last day at the academy began with a lecture on career management by Gintaras Januševičius, full of valuable insights and advice. We then said goodbye to the wonderful Mendelssohn-Musikschule, which embraced us for more than a week, providing comfort and space for all our practice needs.

Afterward, we moved to Northeim, where, in the magnificent St. Sixti Church, we presented our final programme—featuring some of our most emotional performances. Luca celebrated his birthday on stage with a stunning interpretation of Messiaen’s “Jesus’ Kiss,” followed by our audience singing “Viel Glück und viel Segen” in a heartwarming tribute.

Work hard – play hard. The academy concluded with a joyful party at our beloved TangoBrücke, dancing into the night.

DAY 8 // PRINCES OF WOLFENBÜTTEL

Day 8 began with an inspiring lecture by Macdara Ó Seireadáin on performance psychology. He shared a wealth of fresh insights that will undoubtedly influence our practice routines and approach to pre-concert situations. Later, we traveled to Wolfenbüttel, where Feuerwerk gave their debut performance at the legendary Prinzenpalais, welcomed by a warm and cheerful audience. The recital highlights included Schumann’s Second Sonata, Liszt’s Second Ballade, and Chopin’s First Scherzo, among many other pieces - all performed on a stunning C. Bechstein piano from 1865.

We are deeply grateful to TonArt, and especially to Ulrich Thiele, who welcomed us so warmly and generously granted access to his extraordinary piano collection - spanning instruments from the 18th century to the present day. His support and hospitality made this day truly unforgettable.

DAY 7 // LISZT AT THE LIST

Day 7 began in Gehrden at the D Room Recording Studio, where our students learned to adapt to the unique studio atmosphere and record without the presence of an audience. Later, we moved on to Hannover, where the second evening concert was dedicated to its warm yet discerning audience. In a city filled with talented musicians, we knew we had to present an exceptional programme to earn their praise - and we succeeded. With eleven outstanding performances, the evening culminated in the most monumental works of the programme: The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky, Corelli Variations by Rachmaninoff, and the Dante Sonata by Liszt.

We are deeply grateful to the Theater in der List and the many music lovers in Hannover for this unforgettable evening.

DAY 6 // NOIR GREEN

The first evening recital was dedicated to the music lovers of Einbeck. A fully packed Altes Sudhaus at the Einbecker Brauhaus witnessed marvellous performances of works by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Korngold/Januševičius. The evening was crowned with Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit, Ginastera's Suite de Danzas Criollas, and Scriabin's Fantasia, Op. 28.

We are grateful to the team at the Einbecker Brewery for their support and excellent collaboration.

DAY 5 // OLAF & POCHINELLE GO DANCING

Our first public outing was the children's concert at the TangoBrücke. This interactive concert, designed by Gintaras Januševičius, invited children and their parents to dance, compose, conduct, act, and create pictures inspired by our performances.

Sadly, our team lost Frederike to a sudden and powerful cold - we wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to embracing her when she’s back on her feet!

DAY 4 // DRESS REHEARSAL

The dress rehearsal at the TangoBrücke on Day 4 boosted our self-confidence and provided fresh impulses for last-minute practice. We performed piano miniatures ranging from Liszt to Ligeti and gave each other feedback and advice. Thursday's concert at the Einbeck Brauhaus will be our first evening outing during the academy - we're looking forward to meeting the piano fans of the Piano City!

P.S. Thanks to our piano technician Maurice Hopp who refreshed the pianos after two rounds of lessons!

DAY 3 // GASPARDS & DANTES

On the third day, lessons with Gintaras Januševičius continued. This year, the students' repertoire includes a wide variety of remarkable piano works, ranging from popular masterpieces like Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit, Liszt’s Dante Sonata, and Schumann’s Second Sonata, to lesser-known gems by Granados, Fauré, and Babadjanian. Tonight, our dress rehearsal serves as the first semi-public performance - a chance to test our nerves.
