Meet Fembitious, Maartje Aarts!

Our club member and alumni of the first edition. Maartje has worked in innovative education and for the Dutch government and for that, lived in Asia for some years. She was the president of Platform Global Goals Oss for many years and without saying, she is very passionate about the SDG Goals of the UN. To implement the goals together with many on the local community level. Therefore, she has been a consultant regarding the goals to the municipality of Deurne. At Fembitious she wants to know how to invest sustainable and ethical. She finds it important that we as a society empower companies that do not only look at profits but also look at what the long term impact is.

Maartje is such an inspiring leader and a true Fembitious lady!

Somehow we got to talk about men and one of us said, “never forget man are humans too”
That was an impressive statement and gave us a big 😂
Ofcourse what was meant was ‘men can also feel insecure, shy and intimidated’, but it came out really funny!

We are proud to introduce to you our sister, Veronique van Trirum, as a member of Fembitious!

After Veronique got her graduate law degree at the Vrije University of Amsterdam, she worked as the director secretary at ‘Woongroep Holland’ and currently she is active as the board secretary at ‘Woningstichting Eigen Haard’. Hereby she is responsible for the communication and legal department. Next to that, she is also a board member of YWCA The Netherlands!

She joined Fembitious with her two daughters intending to understand how the stock market works and how to invest in it. She also finds it very important that women are financially independent and that is why she joined the club.

We are very blessed to have Veronique in our club.

Keep an eye on Fembitious.Club because soon we will introduce Veronique’s two lovely daughters too!

Our speaker for the 16th of February is Jonathon Cummings. His masterclass will be about ‘China and investments in emerging markets’.

Jonathon pursued his Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (C**A) with a concentration in Government, Politics and Policy studies. During C**A, Jonathon was elected the President of the Cornell Public Affairs Society (CPAS). Jonathon also worked as the Diplomatic Engagement Associate with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF). His focus while at GPF was developing the International Young Leaders Assembly (IYLA). At the 10th annual IYLA UN Global Summit, Jonathon had the opportunity to speak at the UN General Assembly.

Jonathon moved back to New York City of August of 2018. Upon returning, Jonathon worked as the lead Event Manager for the All Ivy Board, which is a social organization which represents more than 20,000 students and alumni of ivy league universities that live in New York City. Jonathon also serves as the Partnership Manager for the World Human Accountability Organization (WHAO) which was a growing international foundation and as a Partner for the Shomei Group, an emerging venture capital investment firm.

Currently, Jonathon is also a Member of the Steering Committee for the Alliance of NGOs and CSOs for South South Cooperation, which is a UN mandated organization that works with the UN Office of South South Cooperation, as well as the Vice President of the Americas for Global Policy Insights and the Coordinator for the US China Series.

Meet our speaker for the 9th of February, Jason Robbertze!

Jason was born in South Africa and has lived in different parts of the world! He has lived in South Africa, Malta, Mauritius and is now in The Netherlands.

Jason is currently an entrepreneur and a student at Global School For Entrepreneurship in Amsterdam. He is the development manager and network advisor at Artysta. He looks into the promotion and exposure of emerging artists and places them onto a working platform found in hotels.

On the 9th of February, he will give us some insights into how he selects his artists and which artworks he thinks are best for potential investment! Jason is still an emerging entrepreneur himself and so he will dive into how he began his journey in the investment of art, placing value on art, through his business at Artysta.

Ditte den Boer is our wise sister, currently working as a coach focussed on women, especially entrepreneurial and career woman. She brings to the table a wealth of experience which she gained as member of the board of Directors at Eclectic, an Executive Search firm which she served for about 25 years. She combines her corporate savviness (she is masters of International law) with her flawless intuition for people matters, and enhances that with her life experience of being a working mom to three (grown up) girls. Ditte has always invested a lot of time in being on the boards of not-for-profits and other social institutions, as a way to help others and herself grow. She has found a passion in creating her own artworks using Paverpol. Ditte is the go to person for sound advice topped off with a warm hug.
