Gîn Bali, a dynamic figure in the music scene, brings a fresh approach to their craft, blending various talents that defy easy categorization. Originally from Bonn and now based in Berlin and NRW, Gîn wears many hats: guitarist, music educator, event organizer, DJ, and producer.
The name, “Gîn,” carries personal and cultural significance, reflecting her Kurdish heritage. It represents a mythical being from Kurdish folklore, while also meaning “woman” in Kurdish, and also being a part of their birth name. “Bali,” meaning to attract attention in Kurdish, is a tribute to her grandmother’s maiden name.
With a background in classical guitar and diverse musical influences including RnB, HipHop, and Rock, Gîn seamlessly blends genres in her performances and productions. Their musical palette is broad, encompassing various styles like Bass, South American Techno, Jungle, Moombahton, HipHop, Classical, Deconstructed Club, Grime, Industrial, and Kurdish Pop.
Over the past two years, Gîn has performed at over 200 shows across Germany, France, America, Brazil, and Mexico. Not limiting herself to the stage, she also organizes events like “YAYA” at JAKI Cologne, serves as a board member of YAYA e.V., and works as a freelance booker and copywriter. She also shares her expertise in music education through workshops focusing on guitar, songwriting, and DJing.
Gîn Bali embodies innovation, seamlessly blending classical skills with the energy of the club scene. Her influence knows no bounds, carving out a distinct path in today’s ever-changing music landscape.
