VERDENSKØKKENET arrangerer en række mad- og foredragsaftner, der fejrer de mange forskellige mennesker, der lever i Aalborg. Målet med VERDENSKØKKENET er at lade mennesker mødes, så vi lærer hinanden at kende og nedbryder grænser, alt imens vores tanker og smagsløg bliver sendt på langfart. Igennem madoplevelser og samtale ønsker VERDENSKØKKENET at fremme interkulturel forstå

THE WORLD KITCHEN is a series of dinners and talks that celebrate diversity in Aalborg. The aim of THE WORLD KITCHEN is to connect people, develop knowledge, open borders and allow our minds and taste buds to travel. Through sensorial experiences, food and dialogue, THE WORLD KITCHEN wishes to enhance a deeper intercultural understanding between the citizens of Aalborg.

Are you coming?
On 4th March we invite you to WORLD!-filmfestival @ Biffen. We share snacks, films and stories, and we hope you'll join us and participate in this very first international film-festival by WORLD! and Biffen Art Cinema in Aalborg.
We screen three films from Romania, Algeria and South Korea. Members of the international women's association WORLD! in Aalborg will present the films and serve snacks from their countries between screenings. You can buy tickets directly from Biffen: https://biffen.eu/events/international-filmfestival/

The World Kitchen ft. Ivory Coast

English below… Til næste Verdenskøkken skal du opleve danseren Pape Seck. Pape er en professional sabar-, djembe- og dundun-trommer samt dansende kunstner fra Dakar, Senegal. Sabaren er en tromme, der bruges som kommunikation mellem landsbyer. De forskellige rytmer svarer til sætninger og kan høres over 15 kilometer. I dag referer man også til musik og dans med denne tromme som Sabar. Da musik, kultur og traditioner er delt mellem landene i Vestafrika, vil vores ambassadør Mama-Essi og hendes gruppe Touch of Africa trække på kræfter fra hele region for at give dig en helt unik oplevelse. Tag derfor godt imod Pape Seck. - At the next World Kitchen, you can experience the dancer and drummer Pape Seck. Pape is a professional sabar-, djembe- and dundun musician and dancer from Dacar, Senegal. Sabar is a drum used traditionally as a way of communicating between villages. The different rhythms translate into sentences and can be heard 15km away. Today the name Sabar also refers to music and dance made by and to this drum. As music, culture and traditions moves freely across the borders of West Africa, our ambassador Mama-Essi and her Touch of Africa-team will present you for the best of the region. You’re in for a unique experience, please give Pape Seck a warm welcome!
