About Institut for (X):

Institut for (X) is a culture, business and education platform founded in 2009. It is an independent and not-for-profit culture association arising from citizen initiatives. We are located at Godsbanen in the centre of Aarhus, Denmark. We create Institut for (X) as a urban neighbourhood and a cultural platform that is continuously changing, pushes the boundaries of what’s possible and provides inspiration for alternative urban development. We facilitate and enhance cultural activities, combining artistic creativity with business, public debate and public education.

Position summary:

Your internship will be in our cultural venue where you will be working closely with the venue team of organizers, technicians, bar staff and volunteers. You will take part in running the venue in daily life and organising bigger events such as the SPOT festival.

What we can offer:

Experience within event management and experience design
A place to practice your skills within content creation for social media
A chance to bring in your passions and your own creative/artistic practice into the work
A chance to shape your internship and tasks according to what you wish to practice.

With a background in R&B and improvisation, the young Norwegian prodigy Sanyu creates music with a soulful expression and warm harmonies while playfully incorporating rap- and groove-based riffs. Her sound masterfully blends acoustic and electronic elements with remarkable musicality.
In a short time, Sanyu has gained recognition as a surprising and intense live performer. Her performance at the VillVillVest festival earned her a 5-star review in Bergens Tidende, which described it as the festival’s “undoubtedly greatest experience.”
Over the past few years, Sanyu has performed at major Norwegian festivals like Øya and VillVillVest, as well as jazz festivals in both Oslo and Copenhagen. Her EP Now You Hear It, featuring new tracks, was released at the end of 2024 and is followed by a small tour in Norway and Denmark, with this concert being part of the lineup.
“Over a far too brief 30 minutes, Sanyu showcased both calmness and explosiveness alongside her incredible band, offering a blend of commanding and exploratory soul infused with tactile spoken word and powerful jazz. Landmark was charged with an energy that lasted the entire evening.” (Bergens Tidende)
