Exciting news for all adventure marathon enthusiasts!

🏃🌄 Get ready for the return of the Lost City Marathon in Palenque, México!

Tucked away in the dense rainforests of the Chiapas region, the UNESCO heritage site of Palenque offers not only abundant nature and vibrant cultural heritage but also stunning trails winding through lush vegetation and river streams.🦜 🍃

Making its debut in February 2024, the race rounded up a crowd of runners eager to discover the still much-hidden gems of the Maya pyramid ruins. As there is so much more to explore, we are returning to Mexico in 2025 for this tropical jungle marathon!

🥉 DAYS✌️GO! 🏃‍♂️

Oh yes, we're counting down the days until the thrilling premère of the Lost City Marathon!

Our 9-day package participants have started their journey with us as we travel inland to visit the spectacular Maya city of Chichén Itzá. 🦜

The renowned pyramid of El Castillo stands at the center of it all as a testament to ancient Maya ingenuity and a geometric, astronomical, and architectural marvel. ✨

But the adventure doesn't stop there! After our guided tour we're heading west for a rejuvenating dip in nearby cenotes; natural swimming pools that the Maya used as a source of fresh water💧

As the sun sets, we'll find ourselves in the charming coastal city of Campeche, a hidden gem of the Yucatan peninsula, where we stay the night and prepare for another day of exploration. 🌅

It's not just about the race - it's about the full adventure! 🌎 🏃

In the next couple of days, runners and spectators will join us from across the globe and immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the ancient Maya city of Palenque. 🌎

Our team of officials is already in sunny Mexico, preparing the route and setting up water stations, ensuring everything is in place for the runners' exciting arrival. 🌴 🥳

This inaugural year of the Lost City Marathon has a truly exciting race route in store!
The journey will take the runners through lush jungle trails, across majestic rives, picturesque ranches, and beautiful small villages.

The Lost City Marathon will test your trail running skills!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Starting amidst ancient Maya ruins at the Archaeological Zone of Palenque, this adventure promises breathtaking views and thrilling challenges. 💪 ✨

The route truly unfolds like a story — beginning on an asphalt path, ascending onto the mountains, across rivers, into the lush jungle, and descending back onto gravel trails 🏔️

Half marathoners turn right into a scenic loop around picturesque ranches and past the village of Cárdenas. 🏡 🦜

Marathoners continue their ascent toward the village of El Naranjo. Here they will run on narrow trails through mountains and dense jungles, cross rivers, and climb intense hills. 🌊

After roughly 10 kilometers of this untamed terrain, the route descends towards the intersection where the half marathon runners previously branched off, back onto relatively flat gravel roads all the way to the finish line 🏁🏃‍♂️

Remember, it's not just a race; it's a journey into the heart of nature🌿
Get ready to run where ancient history meets untamed trails!✨
