We're thrilled to introduce from , who will be sharing her expertise on biased content moderation in SexTech and FemTech.

Carol Wersbe (MSc) is an expert on the digital censorship of sexual and reproductive health rights information. She is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to information about comprehensive sexual health and sexual pleasure, and Carol serves as the Chief of Staff at the Center for Intimacy Justice (CIJ), a pioneering nonprofit organization committed to challenging the discriminatory censorship practices prevalent on major online platforms.

❌Navigating Digital Censorship in SexTech and FemTech

Biased content moderation on major platforms is a persistent obstacle for marketing SexTech and FemTech products and services, leading to ongoing struggles against arbitrary restrictions. Automatic labelling of products and services as explicit due to societal stigma requires continuous efforts to educate both platforms and users and reduce the associated stigma. The absence of clear regulatory guidelines creates a complex and ever-changing environment, with varying rule interpretation and enforcement across platforms. Advertising challenges arise from restrictions on targeted sexual health campaigns, prompting us to explore alternative avenues for raising awareness and promoting accessibility. Overcoming conventional advertising challenges in the industry requires creative approaches in finding innovative solutions or maybe just going back to basics?

Join us for an insightful exploration into the challenges and potential solutions surrounding censorship and networking with local SexTech and FemTech changemakers.
