Oh this is no regular marathon. It kicks off in the MIDST of the ancient Maya ruins of Palenque and takes the runners through its surrounding jungle and nearby villages.
It's a challenging marathon with uneven surfaces, as one can expect from jungle trails! 🌿 👀 But the magic of the wilderness in the heart of Mexico makes it all worth your while.
Besides the thrill of the marathon, you will have plenty of time to relax by the pool with a cold drink in hand, enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine, or explore the surrounding natural gems. 🍹 🌊

This Saturday, June 15, 2024, the Big Five Marathon kicked off with almost 200 runners from 25 different nations! 🇿🇦🐾
The day before the race, participants had the thrilling opportunity to see most of the Big Five along the route. Some runners got a bit nervous, but luckily, the majestic animals were on their best behavior and made space for everyone to take on the course.

WOW! What an incredible journey we undertook together.
After an incredible Great Wall Marathon🏃, some 50 runners continued their adventure and embarked on a 6-day race extension through the magnificent gems of China. ⛰️
We explored one breathtaking location after the other, from the Zhangjiajie Natural Park and Tianmen Cave to the ancient cities of Fenghuang, Dehang Village, and the buzzing city of Changsha. 🛕
It was an unforgettable experience, that not only leaves memories of stunning beauty and culture, but more importantly, relationships that will last a lifetime. 🤝
We will soon open for registration for The Great Wall Marathon 2025, along with this once-in-a-lifetime race extension.

It was an epic comeback, after a five-year hiatus and The Great Wall has not lost its charm.

In the heart of Tairāwhiti Gisborne, where Maori culture thrives, our logo tells a tale beyond a mere symbol. Collaborating with locals Mark Kopua and Rees Morley, we sought to represent and illustrate the spirit of this magical place.
In order to understand the three elements of the logo, we must first learn the meaning of Tai Rā Whiti, which translates to the coast(Tai) where the sun(Rā) shines(Whiti)☀️
Watch along as Mark dives into the cultural depth of this design, echoing the vibrant history and Maori heritage that unfolds along the marathon route!
