Breakfast - and Life After the PhD

Philoteket and SDU RIO invite you to a workshop for those interested in exploring how you can apply your research in new contexts.

At the workshop, you will get:
• New perspectives on how your research can have an impact and benefit others.
• Knowledge of new funding opportunities that can advance your research.
• Information on where you can get help if you want to continue working on your research after graduation—such as starting your own business.

Come and be inspired by the possibilities your PhD can offer you.

When is the workshop?
The workshop will take place from 08:30-11:00 on October 8th at Cortex Park 26, Videnbyen, Room OD SDU RIO (2.0.08).

Breakfast will be served from 08:30-09:00 after which the workshop will begin. After the event it is possible to stay and talk to the invited speakers.

'Interest-driven analysis', 'Polarized research', and 'Spoof Publications' - Thursday, we hosted a PhD Café about 'Distortion of scientific evidence' . We want to thank Professor Bjørn Hofmann, Center for Medical Ethics, Univ. of Oslo, for an inspiring lecture, and all the participants for involving in a fine event.

About Philoteket

Philoteket is an area of the Library dedicated to PhD students. You will find Philoteket on the 2nd floor of the Library above the main entrance.

In Philoteket, there will be regular PhD cafés organized by the University Library. The Café provides short talks and enables discussion with your peers about topics that will pave the way for more smooth PhD studies. Topics cover stress management, project planning, worklife balance, support function at SDU, etc.

In Philoteket you will also find a lounge area, interview facilities, etc.

Additionally, Philoteket has a shelf dedicated to the exhibition of PhD-theses and a wall for displaying posters (you are welcome to contact us if you have a poster you would like us to display). You can book Philoteket for various PhD related events, e.g. for rehearsing your thesis defense or presenting a paper to fellow PhD students before giving it at a conference. It is also possible to book our interview facilities for interviews, talks or meetings. Contact Kathrine Laursen: ([email protected]) about bookings.
