RIP Ms Burton.

Cathie Burton-York 🕊️ who was crowned Miss Dominica in 1990, has sadly passed away at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully on Sunday December 1st in England, surrounded by her children and family members.
Her brother, Lara J. Roberts, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, writing:
"I am greatly saddened to announce the passing of my dear sister, Cathie Burton-York, after a long battle with cancer. She fought with courage till her very last breath. May her soul rest in God’s eternal hands." Burton-York was a proud daughter of the Kalinago Territory and a cherished figure in Dominica. Her grace and strength inspired many, both during her reign as Miss Dominica and throughout her life.
Kairi FM joins the community in mourning this significant loss and extends heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
