Dear friends and supporters!

“DAR Associacion” based in Alicante - and “Dar Kids” branch in Javea - has been on the ground from day one of the crisis. Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers, within 48 hours of the first flood, we managed to set up a warehouse/ aid distribution center in Benetusser, one of the hardest-hit areas.

DAR is a registered NGO, so our vehicles have special passes that grant us entry to restricted areas, allowing us to reach the heart of the crisis without waiting in line, ensuring faster support to those in need.

Our teams have been working tirelessly, coordinating collections from Alicante, Javea, and Valencia. At first wave of collections we’ve prioritized essentials like clothing, blankets, water, and canned food, ensuring they get where they’re needed without delay.

Though the sun may be shining, the crisis is far from over. Families are still in desperate need, especially for items like cleaning supplies and equipment , portable pop-up toilets, but mostly - financial support. Many of them haven’t seen an egg, or a piece of meat, for weeks.

Dozens of trips between our warehouses in our charity vans, countess deliveries of fresh food by foot, to the hard-to-reach streets. We need money to buy perishable grocery items, boots for the volunteers, and fuel for vans.

To support ongoing relief, we are holding an online auction of vintage furniture from our DAR Community Centre. These beloved pieces - mostly donated by local community since opening of the centre in 2022. Many of you will recognize their items, which gave so much joy to visitors of center for 2 years, and now they are ready to find another home and bring relief to those in need.

The online auction already started, bids are collected in comments section of each picture, on December 15th bidding will be closed, and we will deliver desired items to highest bidders, thus hoping to fetch a maximum amount.

Items can be viewed at our centre on Carretera Jesus Pobre 196, 10h to 22h, 7 days / week. There is a “buy now” option on site for quicker sale, in connection with a current online bidding status of every item.
