I am so EXCITED for this year’s Ronda elopements that I can’t stop looking at photos of last year’s elopements to make me even more EXCITED!

E&G came all the way from Miami for their stunning Ronda elopement back in October. It may have been a little rainy but they had so much fun with it!

We absolutely love it when our couples end through photos from their ceremony. It’s so kind of them and it literally floods our inboxes with happiness.

Denise and Darren, whose ceremony I did last June at El Océano, were the best fun ever. I mean, just swipe to the photo of their flower men to see what I mean. Shame I didn’t have space to add the photo of them straddling each other mid aisle!

Another highlight was Denise telling me that Darren had lost his passport to come to Spain and had to get an emergency one, so of course I managed to get that fact into the ceremony, which was met with lots of laughter and cheers!

And of course there were lots of beautiful heartfelt moments too. The telling of their love story and fabulous engagement. Denise’s cousin tying their handfasting scarves for them, their friends and family vow and their own personalized vows too.

It was such a joy to be a part of this incredible moment! Thank you D&D.

I had the honour of leading M&J’s wonderful ceremony back in 2010 at . 14 years ago! Baby celebrant Natasha had only been a celebrant for 3 years back then!

M&J were such a joy to work with and really trusted me with their ceremony. And it was so lovely to meet all of their families and get to know everyone, including their dog Fritz who was there on the day and at one point laid down to rest on M’s dress!

Anyway, imagine my surprise bumping into them this morning in Mercadona (my local supermarket!) and seeing they are now a family of 5 and Fritz is still going strong! We’ve not seen each other since their wedding day!

What an absolute joy! And such a profound moment. 😭

Marcus and Shivani - what a ceremony, what a gorgeous couple, and what amazing friends and family, who came from as far as Australia to cheer them on.

There was so much love in the room (garden!) and laughter and joy as everyone loved hearing about these two and their incredible 13 year journey together.

And when it was time for the friends and family vow, the cheer was so loud, I’m sure they could hear it in Marbella!

So glad I got to connect with these two and I also made it into their wedding newspaper as one of the highlights of their wedding journey! Aw! So lovely!

We’re over half way through our wedding season now and so we thought we’d look back at some of our earlier ceremonies.

The gorgeous Hannah and Rob had a fabulous family-oriented ceremony led by the amazing , back in May.

As well as personal vows, they had a gorgeous sand ritual with their children, uniting them symbolically as a family.

This was the moment that Beth and Ben said their vows to each other during the ceremony. It was such a magical moment. One of my favourite parts of all ceremonies.

I know I am obsessed with personal vows but it’s because I have had the privilege of witnessing so many of them now, I really know just what a special moment it is for the couple and how impactful it is to express yourself on your big day.

It’s also lovely to see the nerves slip away and to see couple step up for their vows. Vows can be fun, loving, heartfelt, romantic, not romantic, whatever you want them to be.

So many people worry that they’ll be too emotional, and if that’s the case, so what? This is what getting married is all about. Emotions and feelings!

And one of my favourite things to do, if I can, if there’s space, is to step aside and let you have this moment together without me peeking in like a nosy neighboring 😂! To try and let you have this special moment to yourselves as much as possible. ❤️

The lovely Rachel shared this photo with me this morning that’s on their website (honoured!) I don’t even remember posing for it but I’m so grateful to for capturing me mid-arrival, because it’s prompted me to talk about the ‘golden hour’ before the ceremony when we arrive at the venue.

For me this hour is as important as the ceremony itself, as this is the crucial time that builds up to the magic hour!

🌸 It gives us a chance to prepare and make sure that we have everything that we need for the ceremony.

🌸 It’s the perfect time to speak to anyone who is involved in the ceremony, from best men to readers, parents, family and friends.

🌸 We can check in with our musician colleagues and make sure that we’re all on the same page.

🌸 We can check with the venue that everything is as it should be.

🌸 We can catch up with the couple, shares big hugs and give any last minute tips and advice, and calm any jangling nerves. (My favourite part!)

🌸 This hour is also the perfect time to fix any mini dramas or things that have gone a little pear-shaped. Sh*t can happen but there’s usually always a solution!

🌸 And just before the ceremony begins, before anyone else is there, I love to spend a few minutes going over my script and reminding myself of what a privilege it is to oversee such an amazing moment in time for the lovely couple and their friends and family.

So that’s why I call this the ‘golden hour.’ The golden hour sets up for the magical moment!

WE ❤️ PERSONAL VOWS

We’re starting to plan our April, May and June wedding ceremonies and it’s SO GOOD to see how many couples are going to be writing their own personal vows to one another.

Please trust us when we say that although doing your own vows might seem scary, and on the day it might feel a tiny bit scary, when you’ve done them you’ll be so happy that you had this special moment during your ceremony.

How often do we get to tell our soul mate how much we love them? How much they mean to us and why we’re happy to do life with them? Yes, not enough! And so personal vows really help to take the ceremony to another level and leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

And even if you think you’re not a good writer or you don’t know what to say, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
