How Modern Foodie was born
As a Foodie, the passion of food was imprinted on me from a very young age. I helped out my grandparents in their traditional English pub with weddings and events, even helping out with their famous apple pie! I have to also thank my mum for playing a big part, encouraging me to bake and be involved in cooking at home. My baking soon became famous at her work place, the
most popular being the orange chocolate cake. As a family we moved to Spain in 2004 but the last few years have been spent out in Australia. Expanding my knowledge of food, where I have been fortunate enough to have worked in the most prestigious places in the world, such as Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns and Sunshine Coast. I have had the privileged to learn from extremely talented chefs and traditional home cooks. My most incredible experience was working in the galley of a dive boat on the Great Barrier Reef, creating and producing breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon tea and two course dinner. I have had the pleasure of learning a huge variety of different cuisine from Spanish, Indian, Thai and much more. Working in a 5 star restaurant I played the role of sous chef, which also included outside catering and events, this was where my passion flowed and my knowledge expanded. My Passion is catering, I love the idea of everything in mini mouthfuls and all the flavour teasing your taste buds. I have bought my business to the Costa Del Sol because I feel you lovely people deserve the chance to taste and embrace the imagination of Modern Foodie.
