The Home itself
is an ancient Galician style stone home several centuries of age, rustic with a spectacular glass gallery overlooking the lake and the nightly sunsets. We have our own wine Bodega and churrasco house where late evening evening meals can be prepared and enjoyed in our courtyard. Work uo a sweat blacksmithing and then soak in an ancient chestnut wine barrel. We are a 10 bed 3 bath rustic accommodation with very reasonable rates.
More modern accommodation is available locally and within 7 klm there are two upscale hotel spa’s if that is more to your tastes.

Travel to and from here
is easy using either the high speed rail from Madrid or Santiago. Local Airports include Santiago 1 hour, Madrid 2.5 hrs, Vigo 1 hour, Porto 2 hours. In addition several bus services arrive locally. Car rental is inexpensive and available at all airports and Ourense Train station which is 15 mins away. Taxi service is available locally. Should you chose to drive you will be surprised at the excellent quality of the road ands highways in Galicia

Jump in the Lake
Five minutes walk and you are at the spectacular lake on the Mino. This large manmade lake hosts year round visits from Europe's finest olympic rowing teams. The stillness of the lake protected from wind by the surrounding hillsides coupled with the mild weather makes it perfect for rowing. The nearby Nautical Center of Castrello de Mino provides boat rental etc. Swimming and sunbathing on the local dock is just a short walk away.

Galicia hosts an astonishing amount of festivals, on one day last year there were 200 festivals happening on one day. We can help you coordinate with one to suit your mood, just don't expect to be home before 4 am.

Explore the local flora and wild life.
Depending on the season, whether it be mushrooms, fish or the ever-present bird life, just marvel and explore. There are cork trees, wild fig and mimosa, Hawks and Gold finches. Take a riverside walk or tackle a hilly path through old villages and don't forget the stop and smell the flowers.

Produce a tile or small sculpture and have it glazed and fired in the professional kiln. Learn to card and spin wool on traditional local spinning wheels, or make felt, while you enjoy fresh local food cooked in the stone oven at my friend Mandy Thody's spectacular farm in Pontetrado near to the Portuguese border.
