I loved the creative process of these centerpieces! We tackled several challenges to bring this design to life.
First was finding how to import some very special flower varieties to Tenerife. The majority of the flowers had to come from Holland, because unfortunately they were not available locally.
Second challenge was to use a floral mechanic that did not involve toxic floral foam and was also suitable for transportation of the designs. We solved this by using kenzan in combination with chicken wire and floral tape wrapped around the container. It worked like a charm!
Third challenge was the intense heat on the day of the event. This was resolved with the help of @principesdeasculis by providing us with a cool space to store the centerpieces during the hottest hours of the day. We added the most delicate flowers at the very end. I am very pleased that all the flowers survived beautifully!
The good thing about using sustainable mechanics is that the flowers had direct access to water, instead of having to drink from a sponge. This allowed the flowers to stay fresh longer and show off their beauty throughout the whole event.

Come spend a Saturday with while I run some errands 😉
This day began with me dreaming of having my own "flower market day" video after seeing all the florists posting about their early morning rides to the flower market.
Unfortunately we do not have in Tenerife, and the closest one is most likely a 4 hour flight away 🥲 (in Madrid).
So I decided to film the local farmers market in my town, where on Saturdays and Sundays there are some flowers available. The varieties usually go from Chrisanthemums to Lillies and that's about it. But on this day I managed to find some extremely rare flower - Cymbidium Orchid! I was beyond excited when I saw them!
After that we spent the day looking for some coated chicken wire in hardware stores, but couldn't find any unfortunately. Instead of that I decided to tackle a new diy project and build my own wooden plinth for displaying flower arrangements.
And that's it! I Loooove running errands (not even joking)! It was a great day! Thanks for watching ☺️

It is quite normal that while conditioning flowers all the removed leaves go straight to ground, because of the sheer quantity of the excess greenery.
So after processing a bunch of flowers I take the time to sweep up the pile of leaves and separate the plastic and paper from the organic matter.
We recycle the plastic and paper, but my dream is to also find a way to safely reuse the green waste. I am looking into home composting ideas.

Content creation is definitely not one of my strong points, I need to constantly remind myself to grab the camera, to record that timelapse and to not cringe over my own voice recording.
