Indalo Birds of Prey Experiences.

Children 11-15 years old:
1 hour handling & flying where they will learn the basics of falconry and fly the birds like a handler.
Price 20 €

Also for children we have a morning course where they will learn more about the birds, fly Molly the Barn owl and join in a craft activity. Minimum group 6 children.
Price 15 € per child.

Adults:
2 hours (approx') where you'll learn about the different birds we have, their habitat and even their own personal likes and dislikes. You will then fly the birds yourself like a handler and have plenty of photo opportunities. This is a real hands on experience.
Price 50 €

Good news on Eddie the injured Eagle owl he's starting to use his wing that was injured, little by little he's regaining strength in it which was our major concern.
Today he's had five little meals, somewhat of an oversight on our part but he didn't complain.

Well , Eddie is doing well and eating us out of chicks and home. His wing is still limp but no infection 😃 We have limited our contact with him so as to keep him as wild as possible for his release. We will update daily and there will be photos tomorrow. Thanks everyone

Eddie has just had his evening meal and he's moving around his mews but obviously we're keeping 'handling' down to a minimum so that he doesn't become 'manned' (used to human contact).

Well Eddie has had a good night and consumed plenty of food. He is getting stronger by the hour. Clicking his beak, hissing and fluffing up 😄 Some birds are never happy no matter what you do!😄 I think some of the males of our species will know what I am on about. There I go again lighting the blue touch paper lol.

Eddie the Eagle..........Owl.
A very lucky boy to have been found by Jean Allsop and her husband while out walking their dogs. He'd become entagled in some wire fencing and they gently removed him, carried him home where he rested overnight.
This morning we met up to ascertain the birds injuries and condition. Clearly in shock and with limited movement of one wing we took him to ABC veterinary practice for X rays which thankfully showed no permanent damage.

Eddie is now resting with us in his own mews away from our trained birds so that he can have complete peace. He's yet to take food and is still in severe shock but we'll monitor him closely over the next couple of hours and update this post with any change in his condition.

We're hoping in the next few days (depending on his recovery speed) to put anklets on him so he can be removed from the mews for gentle excercise to aid his rehabilitation in order to release him back into the wild in a few weeks.

Many thanks to Jean and her husband for their initial care and to ABC vets in La Alfoquia who were somewhat surprised to have a European Eagle owl as a patient but took it in their stride.

Growing up quickly, Matty's plumage changes by the day and his 'ears' are on their way at 15 weeks old. Turning into quite a character already with certain likes and dislikes.
