Regarding the wine industry, Estonia has become the main and the most developed market in the Baltic Republic, with its headquarters in Tallinn.
The short distance from Finland is definitely helping this phenomenon: the Finnish tourism is increasing the wine sales in the country, they love to come and bring some stock of wine back home to Finland.
Estonia is not a wine producer country, so most of the wines on the market are imported.
It’s common to find wine from Italy, Spain, France, Germany and not that uncommon to find wine from the new world wine countries such as Chile and South Africa.
The wine market is stable and there is space for everyone.
Consumers taste in the country is similar to the Scandinavian one, where red wines still have the biggest share of the market and sparkling wines sales are growing.
Also, the market trend is showing an increased interest in organic and sustainable wines.
Another fact, is that Estonia market is considered price sensitive: consumers would rather buy a bottle with a good quality price ratio and an easy and fun label to read, instead of buying a pricy one with a complicated and boring label.
